Is this just "me", or...?

When I check my E-mails on Hotmail, I log out to the MSN page. Every week or so, that page has a "Try this" link, which purports to have "tough questions", such as those any college freshman should be able to answer.

In the last few weeks, I have been taking these "tests", from National Spelling Bee "winning words", to "would you be a good Fortune 500 CEO", to knowledge of the Middle East; from word definitions to grammar to "tough SAT questions", and I've found them so sophomoric that I've consistently scored 100% on all of them.

Not "tough" at all, as I would have answered them correctly when I was 16. My question is...why are these being billed as "highly difficult", or are our college-age undergraduates so ill-prepared that they actually "are"? :?:

LOL!!! c'mon streetsoldier... you know as well as the rest of us that it is part of the global conspiracy to sabotage our country via the "dumbing down of America"...

(you ought to try that Yahoo game "Bookworm", it's a very fun (and often difficult) literary challenge... i play at least once a day, helps to keep the vocabulary skills sharp.)

The quizzes are there, but not every day; look up in the top right hand corner of the page; it wil be one of four items like, "12 Ways to Get Fit ", or something equally as banal.

One of these quizzes was titled "What do you really know about the Midde East? Take this Quiz"; another title was "Tough SAT Questions; Can You Make the Grade?"

Usually, clicking on the link will take you to "Encarta" where the quiz you wanted is to be found nestled within a list of other tests.

Remember these aren't targeted for MENSA graduates but 4th or 5th-grade education levels (or below). Alex Trebeck (the Humiliator) is the man to beat, lol.
