I enjoyed all the Star wars movies. It is really cool to see my son enjoying the same movies I did as a kid. I look forward to seeing the new one :)

I agree Luis the special effects were great. These movies have to be seen on the "big screen" to really get the full impact!

I can't wait until the new movie...Chewey is back!!!!! Yipee!

The first one blew me away....well kinda since I wasn't quite born yet..yeah....that's right I was just peekin through mom's bellybutton..... ....

The triology doesn't quite have the shock appeal and special effects novelty that the first movies had but I still enjoy them....although I keep hoping Anikin doesn't turn evil...duh....he does...*smacking self*

It's a classic....Everyone should see it at least once :)

May the force be with you.....:)

I was so into Star Wars' movies - watched each one as soon as it hit the theater's. My favorite probably is the first, Star Wars. Even though we now know it isn't the "first", it introduced viewers to the story. Fond memories for me.......

As you may know, I am not a fan of movies. Why are they waiting so long to release it?? Wednesday, May 25th, 2005 is 758 days from today! (108 weeks from this Wednesday). :D

are Star Wars fans and my son is really into it including the post Episode VI storylines as well as the video games (and is mean with a light saber). We are more into the Dark Side however. The problem with the prequel is that Lucas has a complicated story to tell and the special effects though spectacular are getting in the way of what is in reality a Tragedy in the true Shakespearean mode (the story of the forbidden love between Padmé and Anakin is straight out of Romeo and Juliet while the downfall of Anakin and the destruction of the Jedi Order has to be more out of Wagner's Götterdamerrung). Lot's of questions to be answered including how Padmé dies. One though, is if we are going to see Chewie again does that mean that we will see a younger Han Solo? Since III will take place some 20 years before IV-the original Star Wars movie that would make Han a teenager about then.

I am disappointed with Lucas. Certainly the special FX are all great, but the story is horrible and the characters are horrible. I guess the change of power is a rehash of either the rise of Hitler or the fall of the Roman Republic. Either way, it doesn't seem that compelling, at least to me. But the worst thing is the characters. I just don't like them nor do I connect to them. They are flat and boring. All of the dialogue seems a bit overwrought, but moreover weak.

Still, it was pretty cool to see Yoda do the lightsaber battle with Dooku (Lucas has to start coming up with better names).

The original Star Wars movies were much better, and even after thirty years, the special FX don't seem that bad at all. That may be because I grew up on Star Wars so it is more familiar, but to be honest, they really don't look that bad. And above all, the storyline is more interesting and there isn't a trilogy of movies after it to which the storyline must inevitably build.

As for LOTR, can't wait to see the third movie. I'm a big Tolkien fan, have read LOTR twice, and Silmarillion 3 times in addition to a good chunk of the History of Middle Earth (I have 9 of the 12 volumes) by Christopher Tolkien and parts of Unfinished Tales. And the first two movies were really good, especially Two Towers. My one concern is how they are going to fit all that material in the third movie and not have it be rushed or cut out. I heard rumors that the scouring of the shire won't be in the third movie, which would be bad, but I suppose it could stand to be taken out.
