Gotcha!! Not that kind of "Rock 'n Roll"!!

About 4:00 am this morning, I was awoken to what sounded like a bad windstorm outside!! I thought to myself *there are no storms around. The windows started shaking, my immediate thought was that my neighbours dead tree came tumbling down on us, but there was no crash!! One thought left... EARTHQUAKE!!!!! I thought * no way!! really?!?!?!

Anyway.. woke up this morning to the news saying, "Nashville was rocked by an earthquake this morning centered in Alabama - measured 4.9", couldn't believe it.. reminded me of when I was living in L.A. again!!

Hey Breeze? Did you feel it?

Have a greeeeaaat day guys
Seeya! :)

Yes, the fault in Alabama is commonly known as TWC/Landmark Communications, but so far nothing has been done to correct it.

lol street! naughty!! naughty!!! hehe

wx247 - yeah mate, there's a plate that runs right across the 59 north of Alabama. There was a small quake centered in KY the end of last year, also felt that one, well ....heard it. Earthquakes are weird, I experienced so many when I lived in LA, they tend to sound worse than they actually are. At 4:00am in a place unexpected was pretty scary though!!

Yes there is a fault that runs through Alabama and it is called the New Madrid Fault. Dennis... I am starting to take everything you told me once VERY seriously now!! :o

As long as a fault releases energy in small bursts it's usually a good sign. It's when the pressure builds with no outlet that something catestrophic happens. It will be interesting to see how many aftershocks come with this one. :-)

the Mississippi River up in west TN....thank God!

I was snoring loudly down here in southern mid-TN at 4am! :ggreen:

LoL, nope, Cyclone, I didn't hear SQUAT! :D

Early that morning, around 1am, an ambulance
awakened me, screaming down the highway - just
as I got back to sleeping good, around 1:30am, my NOAA
Weather Radio keep coming on, every 15 minutes,
with a very loud crackling noise, waking me up - around 2am,
it went off, again, just the crackling noise, and, I got up -
tired and mad and unplugged it, popped the battery out, and
laid back down, and, slept like a baby until the 5:30am
alarm went off! LoL, after all of that, being awakened
by an earthquake would have really #@**ed me off!! :ggreen:

I slept right through it..but it gave my dad and stepmother a good scare..on the second floor of thei home; and several neighbors said it was the strongest quake they can remember in this area..
