Well folks, here we go AGAIN! We are now in EXTREME Fire danger with Red Flag Warnings :o this is earlier than last year. The Haines Index this morning is sitting at .4% fine fuels moisture content, moisture content in the live fuels, an ALARMING 33% :o Just hope these idiots that are moving back up for the summer realize this and don't do something STUPID like toss a cig butt out the window :grr: I overheard a conversation in the grocery store last evening by a summer resident, " I saw the red flags flying, I thought it snowed this winter?" WELL DUH.....that's the kind of thinking that started the Rodeo Chediski Fire last year, the record winds we've been having have made fire conditions WORSE than last year!

Hopefully Dennis people will be more considerate and actually not start a fire this year or ever again. I know that is shooting for the moon but just a hope.

It is amazing that people think that one decent winter's worth of snow would totally eliminate the drought. That person in the grocery store would probably be wondering why the golf courses are so brown too this year.

Ran into a friend of ours today from the Black Mesa Hot Shots, he said, and I quote, "We WILL be shuting the forest down 12 May due to the EXTREME fire conditions once again, this is 5 weeks earlier than last year!" Here's the fire weather for the next 2 days, take special note of the winds :grr:

All we can do is hope that people use some common sense! The intentionally set fires are just sick!
