Storm2k Leanin' Post

None of us like to run into challenges or problems that happen when we need them the least or would prefer not to deal with them at all.
But the paths of our days are not always in our control. So we must deal with the issues we face....whenever they come at us.
The good news of course is that Storm2k's "family" of friends brought together under the weather umbrella can help. While we may not have an answer for every situation, we at the very least can offer a "leanin' post" on which to share the burdens of the day.
If you're here in need of a listenin' ear, some inexpensive advice, or just a place to vent your frustration...well, come on in and lean all you want!
'Dis Be The Place....!!!

What a thoughtful gesture, skyman. S2K has some mighty big shoulders to share burdens. I will be sure to check in regularly to lift up my weather friends in prayer if needed.

P.S. I also wanted to open the door and let everyone know that I do volunteer counseling at drug/alcohol treatment centers, so if anyone out there needs an ear in this area, I am available 24/7. I am also a very spiritual person and very grateful to God for all He has done for me. When I say I am available 24/7, I truly mean it!

Well, I'll lean against the post first.....my Dad had a heart attack April 11th. It was small and they were able to put in a stent and he is home and doing fine..... As a family, we have been shaken but continue to have faith that God will help him heal....The positive aspect is he is now ACTIVELY participating in church .....he would go just to take my mom but now it's for himself.. Please pray that the Spirit continues to move in his heart and draw him closer to God....one of the most upsetting thoughts I had when the EMS took him away was that I will never see him again.. not here on earth and maybe not in heaven. Just like he needs to stick to a strict diet for his body he needs to stick to God for his spirit... Thanks....I have to stop or I will cry...I guess I'm not as over it as I thought....

Garnet......
You have my prayers and know that God will sometimes take drastic measures to get someone to come to Him. It warms my heart to see that he is seeing the light and opening his heart to all that God has to offer. I will put him on my prayer list!

Garnet - I'm glad to hear that the heart attack was small. I'm sure that finding his way back to the church will keep him and his heart going strong! I'll keep him in my prayers.

My father had a heart attack and cardiac arrest on April 4th, 2001 half way through a nuclear stress test. I remember mentioning this a few weeks ago.
My mother is having a cardiac catherization tomorrow morning after on and off chest pains, she thinks she is having heart problems... but it may be asthma/lung related. Overall she is generally healthy, but this will certainly find whatever is going on. I have a feeling it is nothing too important, I would figure she would be doing worse than she is if there was a serious problem.

There are hundreds of doctors who can attest that heart attacks, as scary as they are, have brought thousands of moms and dads, sisters and brothers, not only closer to God, but closer to each other.
Ironic in many ways how such a scary and tentative time in a family's life can serve to build a healthier and happier relationship from that day forward.
Let's hope and pray that these events, however worrisome they are, will lead to some of the warmest smiles and biggest hugs in a long long time!
A bit of news to add. TLC (Tracy) from weather.com let me know today that while she is struggling in some big ways with her health and stress situations, she is also SO appreciative of your support. She says she can actually FEEL it. How great is THAT! Still pray for her and wish her the recovery she is seeking. A wonderful wonderful person she is.
....and for those of you who thanked me for the thread...let me remind you that who I've grown to be over the years is the result of an open heart and an outreached hand. A thread like this without people like you is empty. You are the ones who deserve the credit.
Let's keep leanin' when we need it!
