(Know just about every line, if not EVERY line, to each of these. Not ashamed to mention a couple of them either. :) )

1. The Miracle Worker (for the acting and Patty Duke)
2. Forrest Gump (for everything about it)
3. Fallen Angel (for the script and acting)
4. Grease (ONJ -- duh! "Tell me about it, stud!")
5. Two Mothers For Zachary (for the script and acting)
6. Xanadu (ONJ on skates!)
7. Footloose (Can't sit still and watch this one)
8. Godfather (great script)
9. My Sweet Charlie (for Patty Duke and the fact that it was filmed in Galveston County)
10. Chinatown (another example of a great script)

Excuse me? What's so condescendingly funny?

You asked for my FAVORITES, which would be my OPINION. Nevertheless, Chinatown and Godfather also rank in the top 5 all-time greatest films according to the AFI. Furthermore, all four that I mentioned have great scripts DO have great scripts and are recommended as screenwriting study tools. "The Miracle Worker" did, in fact, have EXCELLENT acting and earned Patty Duke an Oscar. Anyone who has studied the choreography of the fight scene in the dining room alone knows how well she did. And, finally, sure, a handful of them are for entertainment value alone.

Did I dismiss your favorites and laugh at your choice of three action flicks?

Gee, very reluctant to post on this thread now. Floydbuster, had you not come back with that flip comment aimed at Shawn's choice of "favorite" movies, I would have posted mine.

So......that's it from me.

DOH! *snicker* My bad. For someone who knows the movie, I missed out on the meaning of your post and took it the wrong way. Totally a misunderstanding on my part. Forgive me?

I am not that interested in movies, in fact I have only seen 25 to 30 movies in my 9,962
days of life at the theatre... that it's difficult to decide which ones are actually my favorites.

Three that come to mind are:

(1) Groundhog Day
(2) What About Bob? &
(3) Kindergarten Cop

The Perfect Storm is actually the very last movie I saw on the big screen. I was only living in Florida for 2 to 2½ months.

My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Its a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St.

No specific order to them. These are the movies I feel compelled to watch when I am not feeling well. A cup of tea, a blanket, the couch, and one of these movies.

The older I get the less I seem to enjoy the blood and guts action stuff.

I suppose it probably is considered a chick flick, but then again, I AM a chick. :D

I actually saw and liked Surviving the Game. I really like any movie that has halfway decent acting that involves surviving anything in the great outdoors.
