This website is more than just an off-the-shelf project. It has taken a lot of time and energy...and money to get it this far.
Just curious how the project is financed. Not only does the staff deserve some serious praise, but someone deserves a whole lot of thanks for the monetary contribution on our behalf.

I think it is all out-of-pocket payments that the Admins and Mods make to keep it running. Not to mention donations given by members (not required). I guess it costs more b/c of the lack of pop up ads and commericials/sponsers?

Good question!
Is there an address for donations?

The initial cost of putting the site up was a little less than $100.00/year. That includes our annual domain registration for the STORM2K domain name. The first year was funded by the Admins and by user donations. The profits from the Storm2k Store also go into the kitty for next year. All money designated for the site goes 100% to the site. The only exception was when we had a member lose a child, flowers were sent to the family on behalf of the entire S2K family.
We have a paypal account setup for people who would like to donate to the site. Ticka is the "S2K Finance Minister"

So anyone that is interested can contact her directly for the details.
The software being used on the site is either "open source" (free) or is provided through our hosting service. The rest of the effort on the site is done for the love of it.
Thanks for asking

Keep a detailed list of donations received and for expenses. This year the site was paid for by admin as Marshall said - it cost approximately $100. If anyone wants to donate - you can either use paypal or send check/money order to me personally. Just send me a PM and I'll give you my address. All funds are accounted for and use for the site - we maintain and run this site as a labor of love.
If you want to donate - please let me know. We have some funds sit aside hopefully for some prizes during hurricane season from the Storm2k store.
