I am surprised that he would even consider this...without a prompt from his legal team.

He has not been proven guilty of anything. How do we all know that he is guilty? We know only what the media has provided us. Sorry guys I am not on your side of the fence with this one. This same attorney he has NOW appeared on FoxNews not too long ago condemning this guy. Now all of a sudden he wants to defend him? All evidence is circumstantial. The prosecutors have no concrete evidence at all. They also proclaimed to have a "slam dunk" case with OJ and proceeded to trial with circumstantial evidence and LOST!! One nail is they have no cause of death and will never determine that now. WHY? because they supposedly KNEW the body was in the water but left it there. Nothing linking him to her death except for the fact he was 2 miles from where her body was found. And the unnaccounted for "drum" totally irrelavant.

HELL NO He goes and plays a game of golf the day they found the bodies... Didnt even go to try and identify the body or anything.... Now he wants to go pay his respects??? I dont think so... Slap in the face of the greeving family if he is alowed to show his snake arse up there.
and BTW, there is no doubt in my mind that this guy commited this crime...

By what evidence sir? How did HE know that the bodies would be found on the day he was playing golf?
I was only reacting to everyone's belief that he is guilty. I forgot to mention that I do not back him going to her memorial. It would be a slap in the face considering he WAS arrested for their daughter and grandson's murder.
Better Chad?

Only b/c he hasn't gone to trial i'd say yes. I dunno though...its a very tough decision. Can people even be able to get out of jail for a day to do such a thing? I didn't know it was possible. Sigh...glad i'mnot making the decision. I'd probably say no, but who knows?

My reasoning is not based on whether or not he did it. My reasoning is based on what Lindaloo said... for him to go to the memorial after being arrested for the murder of his wife would be a slap in the face to the family and friends of Laci.

No, IMHO Scott Peterson has no place at the memorial. Those in attendance are there to mourn Laci and baby Connor. Scott has never been the image of a distraght husband/father of a missing wife/baby. If he had from minute one behaved in such a way a husband of a missing pregnant wife should - search day and night, rarely sleep or eat, cry, worry, etc. and declare his innocence - then, maybe I'd say yes let him attend. Because then on some level you'd hope he was innocent, b/c of his previous behavior. No, Scott Peterson behaved all along as if he did commit murder. There are so many things he did or didn't do that point to murder - laughing while seaching for Laci, selling her car, trying to sell the house, the affair, etc. I know he's not been found guilty yet, but he sure looks guilty to me (and 99.9% of the rest of the country probably). And so, based upon all of this info and his behavior, no he shouldn't even be considered to ask permission to go. Permission denied I'd say. Her mother just sobbed at the family press conference last week. She needs to mourn Laci and Connor w/o Scott there I think. The entire family and friends that will be there need support, not more anguish. Just my thoughts.

This is a toughie IMO. My reasoning here is somewhat like Lindaloo's. Even though I do think Scott is the guilty party and that the State does have more evidence than they have let the media know, he has not been proven guilty in a court of law. Should he go to the memorial? On one side I say, of course he should-I mean she was his wife!!(this is with the presumption of innocence being used!!!) On the other side, and I think the more decent side for all concerned, I say HELL NO!!! Whether guilty or not, he has IMO, caused enough grief for her family just by his actions since she disappeared, much less since she was found. Like stated, where is the grieving husband who lost his wife and unborn child? They'd have to put up another wailing wall if that had been my wife and unborn child!!!!! If he makes a big stink about going, let his family arrange a private memorial service just for him and his family. I think this is all a lawyers ploy and nothing else.

It makes sense that Scott Peterson shouldn't be allowed to attend the memorial service for his ex-wife and unborn son. I think it would be very awkward having him there with her family and friends.
Who would think he would want to be there?

No way!!!
Where was he when they identified the bodies? Going to play golf!!!
He has never reacted to the crime like a grieving husband and father to be. JMO! AndI can't believe Mark Geragos is going to defend him. Mark said on tv weeks ago that Scott Peterson had hung himself already with of the inconsistiencies in his story. Mark said he is doing it for the "challenge".

A twist of sort. Mark Geragos has been a "regular" on "CNN's Larry King Live" and "Fox News Channel's On the Record with Greta van Susteren" giving his analysis on the Laci Peterson Case with their panel of experts.

I am not sure whether or not he should be there. On the one hand I agree that he really doesn't have a place there and that it would be a slap in the face to the family. On the other I think that he is still her husband and he hasn't been found guilty of anything, other than in the court of public opinion based on what the media says about him.
