OK, let's start off a thread on stories about Yasser Arafat's condition, just to save space on the boards.
Arafat's Condition Deteriorates Rapidly
CLAMART, France (AP) - Yasser Arafat's condition deteriorated dramatically overnight as his coma deepened, a hospital spokesman said Tuesday, and top Palestinian officials met with his medical team.

The rumors are anywhere from he's already dead to he's alive and well.

I'm confused about how they could tell that his coma "deepened." How do you know? Did he drop the remote?

Well... ABC News Radio broke in to report at the top of the hour that he's really dead.
But wait...
5 minutes later, we're back to "No he's not". They now say he has a brain hemmorage(Isn't this about the 226th thing he has had in the last week?) and that he's fine with the news channels reporting he is about dead.
Just put a gun to his head and pull the trigger.

Now that's just not right. That's murder. Pulling the plug is different.
No one says he's fine but no one is stating he's reached the point of being clinically dead. They're trying to delay the inevitable. Obviously, there's no successor chosen yet and the PA has to be ready for some pretty violent activity.

That was sarcasm. I wish they would make up their mind though and quit spreading baseless rumors.

If he has a brain hemorrhage, I wonder (since they haven't reported it) if he has a hole bore into his skull to relieve/monitor the pressure. I didn't hear anything about that -- just about how his "incarceration" wreaked havoc on his digestive system.

The saga continues.
PARIS (Reuters) - The fate of Yasser Arafat was mired in confusion on Tuesday as Palestinian officials insisted in public he was clinging to life even as aides said privately the veteran leader had died at a Paris hospital.
Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath, in a strenuous denial, said the Palestinian president, 75, was "very much alive," but at least five senior sources said he had succumbed to the mystery illness that led to his being flown to Paris on Oct. 29.
A top aide said Arafat, who lapsed into a coma last week, had suffered a brain hemorrhage. Palestinian sources said leaders were waiting for a senior Muslim cleric to arrive on Wednesday to give the go-ahead for disconnecting life-support machines.
"He is dead," one Palestinian source said. "He died after bleeding in the brain began last night. His bodyguards started hugging and kissing and telling each other to be strong."
Shaath described Arafat as "very ill," but said his brain, heart and lungs still functioned. A spokesman for French medical services said earlier: "Mr. Arafat is not dead."
