NYPD Blue - is the ramp near?

I've watched NYPD Blue off and on, but since getting hooked on Law & Order: SVU, it's pretty much been off.
I saw the previews for tonight's Blue ep and thought the same thing they're talking about now on WBAP-AM -- Will this be the episode where Blue jumps the shark because they're bringing Jimmy Smits' character back from the dead?
