Me, I am a tycoon!
Right now, it is Six Flags Great America. I really haven't had the chance to go to Cedar Point or any other amusement parks (except Orlando and Six Flags (San Antonio))

1)Paramount Kings Island
2)Cedar Point
The Beast at Kings Island...Son of Beast I believe came later after I moved away from Ohio.
As for Cedar Point...for the life of me...can't remember the name of that old wooden coaster there.

Wondered how long it would take for this topic to take off! And for Kings Island to be mentioned.
http://www.pki.com/
It's even featured on a Brady Bunch episode! Circa 1970s!

Oh yeah! They rode on "The Racer."
I remember back in the good old days when it was just "King's Island" (no "Paramount" attached).

Ironically, Paramount was also the studio that brought us the Brady Bunch in the first place.

I remember when it was just KI. We still just refer to it as KI. I only say Parmount when I'm talking with someone not from this area! Do you remember the sky cab ride in that Brady Bunch episode? You could ride it from one end of the park to the other if you were tired of walking. There were so many problems with that ride that it was finally dismantled. I remember more than once seeing cars stranded, mid-air and people waving to those below, as if so say - are YOU have fun, we're not! What was it called anyway?
Oh, one more from that episode - the canoe's. They're long gone too now!

I remember The Bat also, but I never got to ride it. I was there on at least four different occasions when it was "down." Now I think it's gone.

Amusement parks are a communist plot. Who else would be able to convince folks that it's FUN to stand in line forever for a 5 minute ride.....
Disney's the worst.
My cardiologist wont let me do rollercoasters or stuff like that any more.

Shawn - the Bat might have been the ride a woman fell out of and died. She had been drinking all day though. So she was inebriated (she took her harness off). Still, that ride had many problems. That seemed to be the last straw. Down it came. There was a string of bad luck up there for a while. A maintainence worker or two were electrocuted, fixing lights in a pond. At least one employee died. Then the customer. For a while there (15 odd years ago?) people were saying what's going on up there? But for ride safety, PKI is top notch. If there's any question about a ride's safety, it's stopped. Which doesn't make customers happy but I always there must be a good reason they shut a ride down! Both my girls had passes this summer (Nina's had one for a few years) and they went a lot.
I can't do roller coasters either Alicia - I get very headachy and nauseous! I'm a wuss I know but it's just not worth feeling lousy for hours, for just a few minutes of 'fun'!!! One year we were talking our youngest into going on all the big coasters, besides the Racer, if I would go. So here I was drugged up on Dramamine walking around PKI. I was in a stooper. LOL Then she backed out, one by one, let's go ride the spider, swings, train, old fashioned cars. I said I took D. for nothing!!!! Oh well....haven't been up there since. When your kids are older and have passes, they don't want parents with them!

You know what's really sad - the only one that made me shaky was the Screamin' Demon. I didn't mind loops and drops and all that craziness on regular forward roller-coasters and it was fine on the Backwards Racer, which didn't loop. But just that simple loop backwards on the SD freaked me. It was like falling backwards and then flipping forwards into a giant somersault (because even though the cars went backwards, the motion of your body flipped was forwards and over). I could barely walk down all those steps after that!
Other than that, I love roller coasters. But I can't do the Spider, the Octopus, the Tea Cups at Disney, or anything else where the car you're in revolves while it rotates.
