Bahamas Cruise

I'm taking my first ever (short: Friday-Monday) cruise to the Bahamas out of Miami this weekend for our 31st wedding anniversary. Is the weather basically like Southeast Florida there? The forecast for Nassau is scattered showers (30%) Saturday and Sunday. Does anyone have any pointers (weather or otherwise) for me? 
P.S.I'm the kind of person who used to get motion sickness easily. Over the past few years, however, I haven't had to take any meds for plane trips. Do you think I should be concerned about meds for this trip, considering the rain chance?
