Wow Bron - me and you are in the same boat - I hate elevators - and I have been known to walk up numerous flights of stairs to avoid riding the elevator. With my current job - I don't have to ride one - one less stress I have to deal with.

Snakes, spiders (except Daddy Longlegs) and public speaking. Also socializing in person (especially large groups of people) due to my Asperger Syndrome.

LOL Ticka... I hear ya!
I also get very freaked out if anyone puts a pillow over my face, even as a child when we were having pillow fights. I actually loose my breath and feel like Im going to suffocate. Same goes with swimming, I get the same feeling when someone pulls me under the water or puts there hand on my head to dunk me under. I get so freaked out when I watch something like fear factor and these people go into coffins or some enclosed box. I actually find myself batteling to breath, just from watching that on the TV.

I just learned that a Daddy Longlegs bite is very lethal. But the fact that their mouths are so small, they can't bite a human !!

There isn't enough room in this thread for mine.
Top 3:
3. Heights (can't go above 2nd rung of ladder)
2. Lightning (this one really rots! It's holding me back from becoming a trained spotter)
1. Something happening to my children

Used to have problems with heights but forcing myself through sky-diving years ago got rid of that. Not real fond of snakes but not what I would call a phobia...just don't lie them

Thank you ConstructionWx...neat to learn new things about nature.

Am very thankful that they don't bite humans!
The state of NC has enough to worry about with Brown Recluse and Black Widow ones! :o

I had a terrifying fear of flying on airplanes. I finally overcame this fear and flew - guess I had to because of my job. Can't say I enjoy flying - but at least now I can do it.
My latest phobia is going to the dentist. I need some work done and I am already experiencing anxiety attacks just trying to schedule an appointment. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

I have a phobia while on the passenger side of a vehicle. If I am driving I am fine or if I am in the back seat. When I am in the front passenger seat I push imaginary brake pedals. lol. Maybe it is actually a phobia of a car accident. People that drive me around while I am in the passenger seat probably have a phobia because of me.

I'm afraid of getting caught looking at strorm2K at work.
Actually heights for me. If I have something to hold on to, I'm ok. I can climb firetowers, trees, and even climb mountains. But like on the roof of a building, I won't even get within 50 feet of the edge. I just freak out.

I don't like wide open places or heights. I cannot fly. I guess one day I will take a Zanex (sp?) or something and clench my fists and do it. I'm not afraid of spiders, I just don't like them...they creep me out. I'm sorry, but there is something about the 8 eyes (do they REALLY need 8 eyes?), the legs, the hair and the THREE, count 'em, THREE body sections...and those little mandible things. I don't like those either. As for snakes, I actually think they are neat. We had snakes in my fifth grade classroom and I always liked it when it was my turn to handle the snake. Public performance is not my thing either, but I am getting more comfortable with it.
