Amber Alert Issued for 3 Florida Girls

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Polk County Sheriff's office issued the Amber Alert on Tuesday afternoon after the suspect apparently murdered his wife and left with the three girls.

Meikayala Gans, 3 yrs., white female, 3'6" 50 lbs. Also missing are her two sisters, Bailee Gans, 1 year old and Jordyn Gans, 3 years old.

Police are looking for Raymond Gans, 27 yrs., white male, 6'3", 235 lbs. with dark brown hair.

The suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Astro van with Florida tag number J61 WPI. Gans should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Polk County sheriff's office at at 863-499-2400 or dial 911.

Standoff with police near the Polk/Hillsborough County line.(Lithia-Pinecrest Road) Suspect shot himself.

Thankfullyt, the three girls are Ok.

I'm glad the children are okay, physically at least. I can't begin to imagine the emotional trauma. Thanks for the update!

The father killed his wife this morning here in Lakeland. They were having problems and the wife had moved out and had a restraining order against the husband. She went to his parent's house where he was living to pick up some personal items that were supposed to be packed in a box and left on the porch. He shot her in the head, when she came to the door.
