Yeah... you know they elected an anti-Iraq war leader following the attacks on 3/11 that killed about 200 and here they are, almost 9 months later, and they are still not safe.

When I hear simultaneous explosions I never think anything but Al Qaeda. This isn't though if ETA threatened an attack.

MADRID ( from MSNBC) 12:58pm)- Several explosions were heard in Madrid on Friday shortly after a phone caller stated that the separatist group ETA had planted bombs in Spain's capital.
At least one explosion happened at a gas station, Spanish media reported.
ETA has been trying to create a separate Basque nation in an armed struggle that has gone on for decades.
Spanish officials initially suspected ETA of being behind the Madrid train bombings of last March, in which dozens were killed. But that bombing was later tied to Muslim extremists.

Brent, Basques aren't Spanish...they live in the Pyrenees, straddling both Spain and France, and their language is unique; it is not traceable to any other language "family", and is considered to be a direct throwback to the Stone Age.
