“He did have a minor stroke and he’s in the hospital for that reason but he’ll be fine,” spokeswoman Amy Streibel told Reuters.
CBS Radio has reported that the stroke means Clark will miss his annual New Year's Eve events in New York's Times Square.
The 75-year-old Clark, who helped make rock music palatable to mainstream America with his clean cut nationally televised ”Bandstand” has been one of the country’s best-known television hosts since the show’s debut in the 1950s.
“American Bandstand” helped promote the careers of Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Chubby Checker.

The guy who does ABC's New Year's Rockin Eve from Times Square each year. He looks like he's 40 but he's really 75.

I used to watch Bandstand every day after school back in the days when it was televised from Philly (yes, I'm ancient).

Don't feel bad - I was just remembering how excited I was when I caught a doubloon from him when he was Bacchus a few years back.

Oh no! I hope he could receive meds within that 3 hour window. At least that's what I'm going to focus on. We had a family member have a devastating massive stroke almost 5 years ago. He was rushed to the ER within 10 minutes of it's onset. We all just assumed he could receive the clot busting medication (a true miracle in itself), but he was on blood thinners. So all they could do was sedate him. I am hoping the effects of Dick Clark's stroke won't be severe.
Yoda, I believed you. My kids wouldn't know who Dick Clark would be, if not for the weekly TV show, American Dreams.

Apparently the stroke was minor. I hope it doesn't keep him from hosting the New Year's Eve stuff this year.

Good grief! Our generation (baby boomers) tends to
think that Dick Clark has to last forever (knowing
that no one does)! I learned to dance on
"American Bandstand"! (And, STILL can't....!)

Praying he will be okay!
