MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! holey moley, Christmas rules and all but talk about exhausting! sitting here at this early hour, hardly have enough time to drop an email. just did an inventory as to how many people i hooked up with cards and gifts this season bringing the total to 90. as for dollars spent, i lost count but who cares, this is so much FUN! i can imagine many of you have gone and burnt the midnight candle too and especially those with kids. despite only five hours rest, this is indeed going to be a good day. i wish it could be Christmas every day of course then we'd all lose our minds from the stress...
in drawing news, pleased to show my final portrait of 2004. to be presented to my girlfriends mother, the individuals depicted are her mothers father, brother and an infant all of whom are deceased. the infant who would've been the older man's daughter (or mothers sister) was stillborn. only one person saw this baby and remarked that she had very dark wavy hair.
this idea was that of my girlfriend and in thinking about the challenge of basically creating an image of a loved one never seen, i wasn't sure if it was a good idea. it's pretty bold to put an image into others heads and especially when no one can really imagine the subject including me. in honestly praying about it, the appropriate way to convey the scene became crystal clear.

the men are spliced from seperate photos and the baby/man's arm was a completely seperate construct.
with that being said, this is indeed a very important piece for the fact that i wish to join this family. massive changes will be coming into play for me in 2005 for i am pleased to announce that although we have truly skipped bases, my girlfriend and i are expecting.
like anyone in our shoes, we're nervous and anxious yet VERY excited and looking forward to all that lies ahead. this came as no accident and for me here now at 31 when i am ready settle, i am grateful beyond measure that it is with this special woman whom i've known for many years.
best wishes to all for a WONDERFUL, SAFE, MEMORABLE and JOYOUS CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY!!!
