My 82 year old father-in-law is a little hard of hearing. And he tends to shout when he talks. He also loved the first movie, Meet the Parents. He's in town now and is telling everyone - hey I want to see that movie Meet the Fockers.....trouble is he's somewhat mispronouncing the word, fockers.....

We are all dying laughing when he says that. And shushing him.

And his grandkids are all laughing their heads off!

It does look like a post-Christmas rush type movie to chill out with.

Well, you have to know the mispronunciation of the name had to be taken into the though process when this title was decided on!!! Seriously, can anyone go through phone books and find the "FOCKERS"?

Shame on me for being an old fart crumudgeon, but I just rolled my eyes and said what will they resort to next to trick people into coming into the theatres? :grrr: :grrr:

Yes David.. They where not allowed to use that title untill they could prove someone had that last name.. They searched and searched untill they found a Family in Canada.. The Fockers

Well, all I have to say is they were very clever with this movie title!

Because my 'old fart' of a spouse, rejects any sequel, b/c they're all terrible (his best example is the Caddyshack sequel)......LOL

I wonder if anyone buying a ticket to this movie is unaware it is the sequel to Meet the Parents?!!! There has to be some clueless movie-goer out there.

That in itself is very clever.

And next if they had used a simple name like Smith, Johnson, Jones, it just wouldn't have been as funny!!!!

Stay far away from "Closer." Stupid, stupid, stupid movie. And VULGAR like you wouldn't believe.

No plot, no character development, nada. I'd like to know why Julia Roberts wasted her time on this movie. It now ranks up there with "Color Of Night" and "Kingpin" as my least favorite movies of all time.

No, I mean "Closer" (which stars Jude Law, Natalie Portman, and Julia Roberts) since we're talking about movies (didn't mean to hijack the thread though. :)

David, I am with you. A little immature for my taste, but maybe I just don't know what is funny.
