Does anyone still have their Christmas lights up?

On the house, or on a tree outside?

Well, I do on a crepe myrtle tree outside ... they've been on there for almost 5 years now (and still work).

We took ours down, but the house opposite my window still has them all up. (Complete with plastic Santa stuck on the roof).

Festive all year round!! I didn't put mine up outside this year. Normally I decorate my balcony...

Mine are down, except for the ones on the Christmas tree.

Lights on crepe myrtles are great. The one in our front yard got too darn big to put lights on without a crane. Should have left them up like you do, SF.

Yup, multi-colored strands are still wrapped around the trunks of the three large palm trees near our front windows. And the timer is still set for 7-12 each night. Festive is as festive does...! :D

I am in the throes of the takedown phase. It would all be put away by now but this year I decided to get very organized. Instead of old cardboard boxes to store all my xmas stuff in, I bought clear plastic bins from Target. We no longer use at least 40% of our xmas decorations stored in the basement. Old dollar store 'gifts' from Grandma....that we just stored away instead of giving away (dumb idea, but here we sit with 296 dollar store items after 18 years)......

I have so many piles right now - keep, discard, donate, too tacky, etc. And my girls have to go thru it first. Who knows, what I think is junk they might want (yes she's given them lots of xmas stuff, hello they have ONE bedroom, ONE dresser, not an apartment yet). If my mom only knew what was going on over here.....oh my. Half of our xmas presents are always xmas related - dish towels, candles, ornaments, ceramic candy dishes - does she think I live in a mansion? LOL

So this year I'm packing away only what I want up for next year.

If my husband were to come home right now, he'd look at what looks like a huge mess (there is an order to it, taking a break right now, need more caffeine!) he'd say - get rid of ALL of it.
