I just wanted to know your thoughts on this question.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE?

WHY ARE WE HERE AS HUMANS?

HOW DID WE EVOLVE SO QUICKLY IN SO LITLLE TIME?

CAN GOD BE SCIENTIFICLY PROVEN AND HOW?

Just thought I'd throw that out. These are some very interesting questions to ponder because it makes you think deeply into you subconscious.

They're not unexplainable really...it's just that it may not be the answers YOU want to hear or they may be questions that just don't make sense unless you wear an aluminum hat and talk to vegetables.

CAN GOD BE SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN AND HOW? Sure. It's called faith and although it may not seem scientific to you, it makes sense to me. Study the human body. Study agriculture. Study astronomy. Study meteorology. Look at the sky during a sunset. Watch a baby being delivered. Watch a person die. And then tell me you don't see order and reason and a plan in how everything is laid out in the universe and how it happens.

No. The existence of God is not subject to empirical verification, and therefore, by definition, cannot be proven scientifically. For that matter, it cannot be disproven scientifically, either. What possible evidence can you gather and present that would support one side or the other? That's what faith is all about.

I agree with the late Stephen Jay Gould, that science and religion deal with separate subjects that do not by their natures comment on one another.

I LOVE Steven Jay Gould. He wrote some awesome essays in Natural History. I know he has a book or two out. Where else have his writings appeared?

I just wanted opinions, which seems you cannot offer one that is viable. It doesn't matter what I want to hear.

I was completely serious in my last answer. Don't attack.

Here's what I learned when I was a teenager - answers to these questions are so deep and complex that if we try to answer them, we will drive ourselves crazy. Yes, that's what a Religion teacher told us. She said it was far better to just accept things, believe in what you believe in personally (this was very forward thinking for a Catholic School, early 70s!) and be a good person. Each and every day.

She seemed content to live her life this way and quite honestly, it IS a complex issue, that I've never really questioned it all much either. Who am I, little old me, to figure it all out. I don't believe we are meant to figure it all out.

Seriously, though -- "Why are we here as humans?" as opposed to being here as dolphins or monkeys or mites?

IMO, it's because God created us in His image because he knew that way, we could reciprocate the love He feels for us and that He shared with us by sending His Son to die for our sins. Furthermore, we were created for His pleasure, as stated in Rev. 4:11 "...for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." We can serve Him better as humans. And He sent the Ultimate Servant, in human form, to show us how to be more like Him...though we always fall short.

wxcrazy - why don't you give us your answers? let us know how you feel since you want to think outside the box.

I'm quite content thinking inside the box, possibly pondering the what if occasionally but no, I'm not about to attempt to solve any of this today. Especially on only 2 cups of coffee AND two teenagers off from school today. Chomping at the bit b/c they want the computer so they can IM friends.....LOL

Can you shorten the answers and still get your opinion across? Never should you not post here because we may not like your answers!!! All opinions are welcome as long as they are presented respectfully. The presenter(either side of the equation)must however, be able to take the heat and respond in like respectful manner. That is all we ask.

Of course, this also assumes the question "Why are we here as humans?" can be answered only by The Bible. There are certainly secular answers to this question, but I don't know how you would scientifically prove this either. But because science can't answer this doesn't prove that The Bible can.

True. Really, only his question about evolution is subject to scientific testing. (Although I'm not quite sure what he means by "so little time.")
