Can you believe, I don't have it yet???

One of these days, I'm gonna get it through my thick skull that DVD's are twenty gazillion times better than what I've recorded onto VHS from the TV broadcasts because of the commentaries. I've seen the Xena finale on DVD and you can watch the entire episode as it was broadcast OR you can watch it in commentary mode, where Lucy Lawless, Renee O'Connor, and Rob Tapert have recorded their comments as they're watching it. They talk about "Well, in this scene, I wanted it to appear that..." or "This is where we had to do two takes because..." and so forth.

I just previewed (for the third or fourth time) a scene from "Love's Labor Lost," which is still my favorite episode. http://www.nbc.com/nbc/ER/video/ I would LOVE to see that in it's entirety with the commentary.

Yes! We've watched commentaries before. 3 out of 4 of us are into DVD reruns. Jim can't stand to buy anything recorded except music. He says it's a waste of time to watch shows over and over again (spoken by the guy who practically set his watch for 7 p.m. Seinfeld reruns for YEARS). As soon as Seinfeld came out on DVD the kids naturally wanted to buy them for a xmas gift for him. Sounds perfect huh - he said no! Don't waste your money. Anywho my girls have just about worn out their Friends DVD's (we have several full seasons, plus the 5 best eps sold for $5 at Target). A selected few F. eps have commentaries. Not sure if Love's Labor Lost would be one that ER would offer this feature on or not. You could do a search at Amazon.com I'm sure. Some movies the kids own have commentary. They absolutely love that feature! Laura rented the movie Holes and watched the whole thing, twice, once w/o and another complete viewing with comm. I shook my head but she said - I'm learning things I didn't know before! She wants to buy that movie (it is good, you wouldn't think so but it is).

I rented the first Star Wars movie recently. Now called A New Hope. Comm. was one of the features. I watched at least half the movie that way - I found what G. Lucas said to be very interesting! He was way ahead of his time in 1977 for his SW trilogy vision.

So yeah, most in my family love commentaries!!! I'm the type that finds behind the scenes info interesting. Something tells me you would too!

PS - oops realized LLL had commentary. I would like to hear it too. I think that's my #2 fave ER ep. Carol's ill-fated wedding to Tag is my fave. Doug's rescue of the boy caught in the sewer drain my #3. All 3 from early seasons. What does that tell you? LOL
