By their kids anyway. My son didn't tell me. No hug or nothing.Am I wrong to let it bother me? It hurt my feelings.

To be frank with you (and probably odd to most of you)... I don't say things like, "Happy Mother's Day"... not that I really don't want to, I have "trouble" getting it out, for lack of a better word.

I suppose it's because he's 16 and too cool for anyone else but his friends.

I second that emotion, "Happy Mothers Day" Deb, I'm sorry, like you said, it's the age!

Deb, if it makes you fell better, my brother was the same way...He's 17...no card, no "Happy Mother's Day" ...to him, it was just another day on the calendar.

Deb, I normally don't want my family to celebrate Mother's Day. I'd rather them do something special during the year, such as my daughter cleaning her room without being told to or putting their dishes in the dishwasher. That means more to me than a commercialized holiday. This year they surprised me and bought me chocolate. It was sweet but I like I said, do something unexpected, it means more to me. Just think of something special your child did for you without you asking him or an unexpected compliment he paid you.

I told my mom but thats only b/c i live in the same town as my College. I know alot of students who were studying for exams and didn't get a chance to say a special hello to their moms. SO you're not on a lonely boat.

I beg to differ with the "it's just the age thing" My 17 year old wished me a Happy Mother's Day and had me a gift. My 35 year old brother never even bothered at all to call my Mother. And my 42 year old sister never bothered either because my Mother would not loan her any money. Hmmmm... it is NOT the age thing. Most of you from the old chat know who the sister is. SUSANM!! Nuff said!!!

But HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY DEB... I am sure you have earned that right.
