All snakes and some spiders (except of course Daddy-Longlegs). I also don't like crowds.

My mom and dad were from Tangipahoa Parish - out in the woods! We used to go camping 13 miles back in the woods on what we called "Big Creek" with our cousins. We were in the creek, someone yelled "snake", and of course me, I go to the OTHER SIDE of the creek. The snake followed me up. Thank God my father was a good shot!

One time I was fishing bankside at a lake at Sharon Woods Park in Cincy and suddenly a water moccasin came to the water surface and I nearly had a heart attack and fell in!!

Fortunately the snake swam away and didn't come ashore and I managed to keep my footing on the bank!

Thank you! To this day I can't look at one, not even on tv - I'll have nightmares if I do.

As far as I'm concerned, the only good snake is a dead snake.

One evening my folks went to the house of some friends of our's who (at the time) resided near a small town in south-central Virginia in the Lake Gaston region...well, my folks and some other friends of our's who joined our other friends at their home...it was at night and as they were heading to their cars to go home...this one woman nearly stepped on a cotton-mouth!!!

Fortunately and thankfully the snake didn't bother anyone but was there on the gravel driveway nonetheless...so my Dad was everyone's hero and crushed the snake rolling back and forth on it with the car!!

Yes, it was a living creature...but a venomous son-of-a-gun at that!!

People used to tell me that you could tell the difference between a venomous snake and a non-venomous snake by the shape of their head. SUPPOSEDLY venomous are pointed, non-venoumous are round. I asked them if they actually thought I would get close enough to look?!

NO. One time my sister and brother-in-law "tricked" me. When I turned around and saw the snakes, I screamed. I scared all of those poor little kids! They thought one had gotten out...

Snakes are pretty scary, but the two things that terrify me are deep water and heights.

I have a phobia of really severe rainstorms that have lighning that flashes like a strobe light. I can trace this irrational fear back to my childhood when Hurricane Donna came through my hometown of Bartow, FL. I was only 4 years old when it happened but I remember it like it was yesterday.
