Does anyone know what I need to buy if I want to hook up 3 computers to one cable connection? Right now I have 2 computers that are next to each other hooked up with a router. I'd like to add a 3rd computer that's in another room and I have no idea what I need. I went to BestBuy.com and they talk in a foreign language. "Wireless access point lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (IEEE 802.11g at 54 Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11 Mbps) devices to the network" blah blah blah - Just tell me if it will hook up 3 computers in separate rooms please. lol

It depends on a few things. If the computer is a desktop and you can easily run a Cat 5 cable from the router to the computer than that would be easyist. If you want to go wireless be prepared to spend some money. First you would need a wireless card for the computer and also a wireless router. Plus you would have to go through the hassle of setting up the wireless connection.....MGC

Frack, I use Linksys. I don't remember where we bought it but I know I've seen it at Walmart, Best Buy and other stores. Here's their website you might find some info that will help you.

Thanks MGC and Frick! I just noticed that my Linksys router has a 4 port switch.
So, if I could figure out how to get a cable down the hall and into another room without it looking tacky, I guess I don't need to buy another device.

I have I have Linksys wireless connection 2.4 GHz 802.11b, works great throughout the house and I have 2,000 square feet.

I bought wireless card for my new Dell, my husband's laptop had a wireless card already and I bought wireless card for the old machine and then the router. About 49.00 at Wally World a piece. But now I don't have to FIGHT to get on the internet!

Yes - wireless is the way to go. And it really ain't that expensive. I have a D-Link wireless router (Model DL-614+) that handles the cable internet connection for the main pc, my wife's laptop, and daughter's desktop. Had to buy the router - about $60 at Office Depot, and a wireless network card for the other desktop - about $30 at Wal-Mart. Wife's laptop was already set up for wireless, so I saved about another $30 there. All in all, the most it should be is $120 when everything's said and done...

Sure beats cables strewn about the house :D .
