My heart sank reading this Amber Alert. Praying right now they find this guy and the little girl is safe.

Just yesterday afternoon a 10 year old girl in the Cincinnati area was almost kidnapped too. In front of her school. It doesn't sound as if the two cases are connected but worth noting, since Seymour, Indiana isn't that from from Cincinnati.

Oh I pray they find this girl ASAP.

Me too. I don't think the two cases are connected since there are two different vehicles. But there is a remote possibility.

I pray they find her quickly as well. My heart sank reading it too Miss Mary. What must she be going through right now. :(

Even if (when!) she's recovered safely, I think people like this scumbag should go to jail forever!! NO TOLERANCE for stuff like this. They should NEVER have another opportunity to kidnap or harm a child again. GRRRR!

Regarding the other thread for this emergency situation....in this case, you can't bring ENOUGH attn. to a story like this. So two threads for this Amber Alert do not upset me in the slightest. Since of course I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

So I hope Wxbuffjim understands!

I heard the story on the car radio.....they're searching the entire Tri-State (OH/IN/KY) probably. They could be anywhere.

Here's the latest local article of the Indiana Amber Alert....the article includes a picture of the the little girl.

Amber Alert Canceled, Body of Missing Indiana Girl Found

The body of a missing 10-year-old girl from Indiana has been found.

Indiana State Police say a trooper found Katie Collman's body in a stream in a wooded area near Seymour, Indiana, north of her hometown of Crothersville.

The child had been missing for five days. She was last seen Tuesday afternoon at the Crothersville Community School.

An autopsy will be conducted in Louisville Monday.

Her parents had pleaded for their daughter's safe return.

Her parents say they knew their daughter hadn't run away.

"She'd never not check in before going someplace," said John Neace, her father. "She always calls."

Katie's parents appealed Friday for their daughter's safe return in a written statement.

They asked the abductor to drop their daughter off anywhere so she could return home.

One witness says the child was last seen riding in a late 1980s or early 90s white Ford pickup truck.

A state police sergeant says authorities waited two days to issue an Amber Alert for the missing southern Indiana girl.

Sergeant Jerry Goodin says alert criteria requires authorities to have a lead on a missing child's whereabouts before an alert can be issued.

Once police received a description of the truck the 10-year-old was spotted in, the alert went out Thursday.

On Friday a composite sketch of the man suspected of abducting Katie was released.

Anyone with information about Katie's death or disappearance is asked to contact The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 or the Crothersville Police Department at (812) 358-2141.

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information.

Only last month a grand jury in Ohio indicted a man in the abduction and rape of five-year-old Emily Rimel, of Columbus, who disappeared on December 7. Emily remains missing.

Crothersville school official Terry Goodin says counselors will be available at Katie's school on Monday.

I'm not sure how many more stories like this I can take. It just breaks my heart. That poor innocent little girl. :(

Whoever killed that child should be hung in the middle of town and let the citizens take care of his punishment. We've got NO use for scum like that in this world. :grr:

Yeah, let's just kill him and then wait for the next child's body to be found, dead and spread-eagle like Danielle Van Dam, instead of studying him and learning how to identify pedophilic tendencies in people early before the next child is killed. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

If we locked up all the known pedophiles, that would surely save some children's lives! Why do they keep getting another chance? No tolerance is the way to handle these scumbags IMO. If other sickos see how tough we are on their fellow pedophiles, maybe they won't commit another crime. They get off too easy.

Actually, I have no problem studying them...I just think after ONE offense, they should never have the opportunity to get near another child again!

WTH? Whoa, whoa, whoa!! Hell, I never said anything about letting them run free, did I? They should be locked up for good after ONE offense. The recidivism rate is too high. They DON'T change! As for keeping them from committing their sick acts, seeing what their punishment might be is not a deterrent. Sometimes, these guys try to justify what they're doing as "love" and they don't always think or understand that what they're doing is wrong. If I could, I'd post a link that all parents should read. However, the language is too strong. Basically, it's a vigilant site for those of us who want to stop these jerks.

duckie...I'm not sure what I said to make you think that I thought that you thought they should run free but I didn't think that at all.

Wow, read that fast 5 times!
