Looked around for the thread from a few weeks ago about her whereabouts, but I heard briefly from Demi-John (aka Jackie) from Pen Argyl. She is finally flying and is realizing her dream as a flight attendant...and doing well. Husband Tom and family are also doing well.
Just thought I would share that tidbit for those of you who miss her presence, her wit, and that wonderful heart of hers.

I just had a lovely, long email from Jackie this morning. Before xmas we had hoped to meet for coffee while she was training in the Cincinnati area. Now she's flying and sounds very, very busy. But one day who knows, maybe we'll hook up!
I miss her too. She said to tell everyone she misses S2K also and her many, many good wx friends here......that's Jackie, very busy but still touching base, via others (you Steve, and now me!).
I still say I could be this busy one day soon too. Hate to admit it, but when you return to the working world and run a household to boot, the boards take a back seat - waaaaay in the back! I fear this may happen to me. I am looking at job ads as I type. If the ideal, legit stay-at-home job would just plop into my lap or as Nina says, we win the lotto, we'd be set. But I don't see that happening. And in Jackie's case, I know she's probably saving for what I'll be contributing towards - college tuition! Times 2 here, Times 3 for her!!! If only we lived in California.....where tuition is free if that rumor is true. LOL

Thanks for the update Steve. I had the pleasure of meeting Jackie in NYC in 2002. She is indeed an incredible person. Sadly we do not seem to communicate at all any more.

David - I feel as though I owe you an explanation as to why Jackie wrote me such a long note. I initially wrote her a long note. You see I had a long-term online friendship/correspondence go sour on me, right before Christmas. Someone I thought of as the sister I never had, almost family. This person just flat out turned on me one day, with no warning. Her casual treatment of me and our relationship (I no longer use the word friendship with her), hurt. Really hurt. And prompted me to question all of my online friendships! I began to pull back from getting close to people. About this time Jackie was in the Cincinnati area, and training for her job. Asking for us to meet. Poor Jackie....she indirectly took the brunt of my reluctance to be close with online friends. I got over my hurt though, that's in the past.....and I'm fine now. So fine that I opened up to Jackie about what happened with my former 'friend'. Jackie, being the sweet-caring Jackie that we know and love, was so understanding. Her long reply today, made me tear up almost! She thanked me for being so honest with her. And by the way, this so called 'friend' isn't really anyone you all know here (although she did briefly join S2K but thankfully doesn't post anymore). So please don't think it's anyone friend wx-board related you know....we are all the best of the best, ya know...
So there's my wordy explanation for hearing from Jackie. She sounds very busy but took time out of her busy schedule to assure me she understood why I didn't initiate a meeting a few months ago. I am so relieved to know she understood!
