A good decision by the judge.

Yes, there is a God!

RIP Laci and sweet baby Connor. Justice was served today, IMHO. Not trying to spark a heated debate over the death penalty, but I knew he was guilty. From minute one.

I am so glad this is over and the judge did not give in to the defense's request for a new trial!

Yeehaw!! No new trial either! Best news I've heard all day. I am not a death penalty fan, but lethal injection is too humane for this guy.

From http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,150588,00.html :
Wearing a black suit, Peterson had entered the courtroom around 9 a.m. PST. His hands were bound in metal chains.

See? No jury...prisoner gets shackled.

I'm willing to be before the Atlanta shootings, they might not have thought/bothered to print that in the story.

Unfortunately his end will come quickly and he will not suffer as did his wife and child. He will not experience the pain and anguish felt by laccie's family and friends. Although, this is the rulling handed down by the court. His judgement will come much later and it will be swift. I will never be able to understand how people can murder. Especially those they love. May God Have Mercy on his soul. Although deep down I believe he deserves NONE :x

That is what the trial judge said. He can STILL get a new trial.

The judge rejected the defense request to have a new trial.

True. But the defense can still appeal. In such an event that the appelate court overturns the conviction (which is highly unlikely IMO), the defendant can have a new trial.

Rainband I guess u meant he will suffer a relatively painless death by lethal injection. But his execution is many years away..probably 10-15 years. and that is not right :x

Good. He deserves to die.

They can still have an appeal on the federal level, right?

Furthermore, his execution won't go before all the others on death row. It could be years and years before he is executed...and he might die in prison before it happens.

I will be at least 40 years old before he is executed(unless someone in the prison takes it into their own hands).

Just for reference I'll be 40 in 2028. You can do the math...

Correct. He may still appeal on the state level as well.

During the pre-sentencing phase, in which those affected by the deaths could articluate their feelings, Scott's parents proved to be in utter denial; his father called one of the Rochas a "liar" and left the courtroom. :larrow:
