I'm sure you'll do better than me. I can only hit the ball 75 yards as of last try

Dennis...you and Annika Sorrenstam have a lot in common. A big week for both of you on the golf course!
Of course, I suspect she'll get a little more attention than you, but, I'll bet with your height, if you do connect with that ball at least once, it won't bounce off the trees, it will go right through them!
Enjoy.

The price for a round of golf isn't too bad, it's called *Twilight* from 1400 till dark at Show Low and Silver Creek Golf, you can play unlimited holes for 24$!

Great price. Does that include the cart? I do hope you're riding and not considering walking 18 holes. Please say it ain't so.

hehe - I'm starting to sound more like my Mom every day. lol
Anyway, I bet you'll love it. It will take your mind off of absolutely everything else!!!
Have fun and hittem straight!!

Have a WONDERFUL time! If you do have a cart, (alot of places around here require that you do), give your foot a rest every once in a while.
SLICE!

j/k!

"Move over Tiger, *Smokin' Snowmans* takin' over!"
Well, for the FIRST round of golf I've EVER played in my life, it was AWESOME

We didn't keep score this time, I wish we did, not to brag or nuthin' like that BUT......out of 18 holes, I went UNDER par on 6 holes :o the others

I need work BIG TIME on my long game, my short game, I was told by the fellow I was playing with PLUS 2 old farts, that my short game needs NO WORK, PERIOD

The short game feels natural, I have the natural finese, the long game Phffffft

The 12th hole was 95 yards, par 3, I went 1 UNDER :o My pitching, chip and putting game is GREAT!
I've been warned time and time again, it's like a drug, you know what, it IS!!!!!

Dennis....
As you may remember, I have tutored the two daughters of one of the top 50 golfers on the PGA tour. Out of respect for that opportunity and the privacy of his family, I will not mention his name.
I asked him a while back how to improve that long game...get a little more distance.
He took me outside, assumed the golf stance for a drive off the tee, took a swing as though he had a club in his hand, and then said, "Now here's the secret, Steve, watch me."
While he had his eye on the ball soaring through the air, he backed up at least 15-20 feet so that by the time the ball would have landed in the fairway, the total distance from where it landed and where he was standing was increased by that amount.
Amazing, just amazing! Try it Dennis!
I've been asked to consider going back to the center and helping again. This time, the daughter of one of the D-Backs is getting some tutoring. Maybe I could get a valuable lesson in hitting that could add another 20 yards to that too!
Glad you had fun. Rest assured, you could not get addicted to golf in Scottsdale during the winter. At $60 to $600 for a round of 18 holes, you'd be selling your clubs for green fees just to play one round.

HOLY SMOKES!!! 600$ for a round of GOLF???? WOWEE!!!! I mean business is GOOD but! Summer fees here run anywhere from 25-35$ depending on which course you play, I've got friends who live in the White Mountain Summer Homes (Phil Michelson*sp* has a summer cabin *note summer cabin, 3500 sq ft!* in the summer homes) Pinetop Country Club and Pinetop Lakes CC, they are always asking me to come up and play, well, I'll have to take them up on that offer, best courses on the mountain bar none!
Great advice Steve, thanks! I'm going to the Driving Range at the PLCC tomorrow for a few lessons on my long shots, like I said, my chips, wedges and putting are great!

That round of golf will end up causing you thousands LOL It's an addicting game

No matter how bad you play on a given day there will be one shot that is absolutely perfect! It's the feeling from that shot that ends up dominating your memory (and costing you money

)

"LOL @ Marshall!" Yup, I can see that comin' a mile away already! Good thing about it, I've got an understanding wife who will back me on anything I choose to do (at least I hope so LOL!) Naw, she's been very supportive of my desire to play.
Yes, there was that Par 3 yesterday that I went 1 under that will no doubt, be a favorite memory of mine for a LOOOONG time, especially when I heard Jerry, the feller I was playin' with, say under his breath "Beginner my @$$!" "LOL!" AND, another shot that went into a 70 foot oak tree and is still there, stuck between 2 limbs

LOL, I knew it. I knew you'd love it. I think that the important part of the game is your short game. If you're good at that you have it made. Remember your drive is only 1 shot. I think guys get so hung up on having a loonnnnng drive.
One under par is a birdie. One over par is a bogie.
Pick out the course, I'm comin over!!!!
Take care
