I was just wondering if American Idol fever is occuring where you live? Raleigh is the hometown of Clay Aiken, and the coverage is non-stop...and so is the non-local media coverage over here! Lol...they say this is the biggest thing down here since the time the movie "Bull Durham" came out. LOL. But seriously its clay mania. Raleigh is loving the exposure hehe.

In CT it is just as popular. I just came back from Raleigh and didn't see as much Clay stuff as I thought I would. I think he will win it and am pulling for him. He sure has come a long way from when he started out. Seeing the early clips of him is really funny compared to now. Most people I talk to in CT are split between Clay & Rubin, but most think Clay will win it!

You beat me to it JQ!!

Actually, I was thinking of doing a poll, but I think Clay will also win it - by a hair. They are both SO GOOD!!

"Bridge Over Trouble Waters" was EXCELLENT! I'm going to miss the show when it is over! :(

Yep fixitmhn the coverage has gone crazy the past couple of days. Radio stations only talk about clay...they replay the shows and do song by song reviews hahah.

Steph! Yeh i was wondering why no one was saying a thing about it?!! I must say although i also think he does sound a slight bit broadway-ish...his voice is sooo piercingly (in a good way) powerful. All his songs give me chills. I really liked Ruben too, but for some reason he seems to be not liking the showbiz business. i don't hink he expected it to get this big. Although he loves the attn you can tell...i saw him going back to visit his old hs one time and it looked as if he was saddened to go back and be mobbed like that even at home?!? Oh well they both deserve it and i doubt that even if ruben or clay lose they will both make it big in their separate genres.

They are both winners and fine gentlemen too. I can't wait for tonight!

OK JQ, I'm here. I only catch bits of the show. Is the guy nice to these contestants?

Ruben won! I didn't see the performances last night, but from what I witness tonight...both gentlemen are winners. There's no doubt in my mind that both will most likely receive recording contracts.

I have only seen a couple shows... I didn't get into the American Idol thing, but I was disappointed that Clay did not win. His vocal performances, in my opinion, contained much more variety and range. Not to say Ruben didn't do a good job, but I think in the long run Clay will or would have been more successful.

I agree with you Shannon they are both very talented singers.

I am very glad that Ruben won, there is something about his face that makes me smile :)

I was never an "Idol" addict, but did watch a few of the shows, and have rooted for Rube all the way :)

Per the RCA Exec that gave Kelly her Platinum both Ruben and Clay will receive recording contracts, and will release records on the same day. That seemed to surprise even Ruben and Clay! Then the real battle of the charts will begin. I really like them both and either one is a winner!

PS. Ryan was interviewed on Today this morning and said that all three judges will return for the next Idol, and Simon was trying to get a better deal!

I was leaning alittle more towards wanting Clay to win myself, but I do love Ruben! I'm so happy for both of them. I'm looking forward to hearing their songs on the radio.

They MUST record Clay singing "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" with that choir as backup! I'd be first in line!!

Me too Steph. I'd be right in back of you to buy that recording. He has a terrific voice. I can see him on Broadway. Ya gotten love Ruben too. Man does that guy ever sweat!!!!!

I like the Worst Singer In The World Competition segment of that show, I mean sure there were the worst singers from Germany, France, Lebanon, and United Kingdom, but nothin' tops Keith from Atlanta, GA, USA! OMG, now I can't get that "Like A Virgin" clip outta my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually,
Now that Ruben won, I think Clay is in a better position. Ruben has all the pressure of being the "Idol", where Clay can just reap the benefits. He already has a record contract according to the show, and there won't be nearly the same amount of pressure that Ruben will have to endure.

Hey everyone, glad to see everyone watching American Idol one of my favorite show to watch with my 12 yr old. She loves music. I have been real good this winter with my opinions about things BUT it's almost hurricane season and they really come out this time of year lol.

I gotta a problem with RCA releasing both albums on the same day. Both of these kids were great, don't get me wrong, but there was a winner and they should respect that. Maybe release Clay's a month later? Oh well, the opinion of a weather junkie for what it's worth lol Have a Great Day Everyone!!!!!

You're gonna go insane!!! :o

Actually, I could've done without that worst singer portion. I really wanted to hear Ruben and Clay sing some more!

I have to agree with BreinLa, I thought it was odd that they were going to release both of their albums at the same time. I think Ruben's should be out first with Clay's out a month later too.

Sorry for the delay folks...moved into a new apt :) :) just got internet today yahooo!. Yeh that was a shocker to us as well. To tell ya the truth i wanted Ruben to win, but since clay was from raleigh i voted for him. My mom and I got in 10 votes all together. But only on this one cell phone all our other phones didn't want to even connect :(. They are both grrrrrrreat sinngers. Just two different types of singing all together yuou know?

and coriolis...yes simon was mean...but the show wouldn't be the same if he didn't give it to them straight u know?!

JQ, you weren't gone long without responding to this and other posts.

You consider yourself being away for awhile?
