Advice For Poppysky...

Friday will be my first real test with my granddaughter. She and I have to drive her mom's huge RAM 1500 truck to Lindbergh Field in San Diego and drop off her mommy and daddy at 5:30 am. She'll be ridin' in the carseat.
Then, for the first time since my own boys were 9 months old...I get to spend the day with her at her house, going for a walk, or doing whatever it is she seems to want to do.
Then we go back to the airport and get her granny later in the day.
I'm really looking forward to the day...but remind me again of any tips and suggestions. Like, if you're going to take a nap, wait until she does too. Or, save some of those Gerber peas for her instead of eating them all yourself.
Any other suggestions for Poppysky?

Poppy needs to have fun! I'm sure that you will be ready for a nap before she is LOL

That's exciting. I can remember my first lone car trip with my granddaughter, Maddie. I was soooo worried that she'd start crying while we were driving. Gee, should I pull over, should I let her cry, what should I do?? Well, all that worry was for nothing since she fell sound asleep and slept the entire trip. You'll have so much fun. It's always a special time when you have "One on One" time with them with none of your children supervising!!! Have a wonderful time. If you are going to eat the baby food, might I suggest the mixed fruit or the apricots!!!! After she is asleep you might try a nice Reisling to accompany the fruit!
Enjoy

PS: I could have passed on the poopie diapers!!!!

Aww Steve, I am sure you will have a fantastic time with your beautiful grand daughter
I remember when my son was about that age, he loved to sit outside and "goo-gaa" at the birdies and the flowers, and of course chew on everything that was chewable. If all else fails break out the plastic dishes.. lol. Never fails to amuse babies, they get copious amounts of joy out of smashing plastic containers...lol

Well..Emma and I have done fine together. Spent time outside and in...and we both napped at the same time. Felt like I should get my rug out!
We're getting granny at the airport in a an hour...and Emma will have some new entertainment.
Thanks...I am now officially for hire as a babysitter again!
Pictures available on Sunday or Monday.

Ah yes, the pictures! There will be some by Sunday. Have a couple good shots arleady.
Jason's next door neighbor is due back to the base in San Diego in the next few days. He has been on one of the carriers during the Iraq conflict. Would be nice if he would come home while we're here. I would personally go over and shake his hand!
