Out for ribeye steak, then a "Mom's devotional book", page ribbons for her Bible and a card with her name and its meaning on it (Deborah, "Industrious Bee") to remind her who she is.

Being William, "determined protector", what else would you expect?
The book is called "
One-Minute Prayers for Busy Moms"; after working all day as the "beancounter" for a DoD contractor, she needs a "lift-me-up" pocket volume to repair to...I also bought her an Irish pewter cross (yep, red-headed and green-eyed!).
For Father's Day, I'm holding out for a Canterbury Cross (8th Century Anglican) for daily wear, spaghetti and meatballs, and a
Ritterkreuz den Eisernes Kreuz mit Eichenlaub, 1939. ("Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, 1939") for my collection.

Thanks---I needed that.

For Dad's day, I usually get treated to dinner by Adam, and get a good hug.

We had a MAJOR grill-out for all the family Moms, today.
I have finally cleaned up and put everything back in order,
and, right now, I am in BAD need of the shower! It was
really fun, though, and, all the Moms AND everyone else
had a good time.

Yesterday after church and lunch...when my folks and I got home at 1 pm ET there was a call on my Dad's cell phone from 12:47 pm from my sister Retha and brother-in-law Mike saying they had some tickets won from a home school reading program that their kids were in for a Carolina Mudcats game!!

They had 10 tickets in all but apparently friends of their's from up in the Roanoke Rapids, NC (where they live) couldn't use them so they were able to invite us and it was great afternoon of fun and fellowship...high near 80F with a light breeze and low humidity...couldn't have asked for better weather either!!

Even though the Mudcats blew a 4-3 lead and their opponents the Montgomery Biscuits won 8-4 it was still a GREAT afternoon of FUN and it sure made my Mom Mother's Day and my sister's Mother's Day, too!!!
It was fun seeing Muddy the Mudcat race a kid around the bases as one of the nice skit events, a frozen T-shirt contest between a boy and girl, etc!!!

LOL LOL
Sound effects funny also with glass shattering noise for foul balls and there was fireworks and a siren going off for Mudcat home runs, etc!!
It was my folks' and I's first minor league game and quite a nice fun day it turned it out to be!
After the game we all headed to a north Raleigh restaurant called Spinner's Grill for supper!
Eric
