This is part one of two of a study I have to complete for something I am doing. This question goes for everyone.

In your life, past and present, how many people have you known/do you know PERSONALLY that have used illicit drugs?

Feel free to add your own comments. :)

Yep - there's a lot of them out there and what amazes me even more is that they seem to function just fine at work and at home. I know more stoners now as an adult than I ever knew when I was in high school.

I was appalled when I went to my high school 20th reunion at the number of people who still smoked pot. Kind of pathetic to see guys nearly 40 years old still sneaking off to have a clandestine toke.

1st Corinthians 13:11 came to mind a few times that weekend.

How come 100+ isn't a choice? Keep in mind that I grew up in the '70's and would never consider running for president.

Presently I know a few. I'm glad I quit, though.

Numerous patients in the ER, a handful of acquaintances, and two friends.

Jen,

The fact is that more people smoke pot then what you would ever think, I smoke pot when I was 16 until I was 31 (now 37) and I had smoked with Doctors, Pro Sports players, city council members, a mayor, a few lawyers and even with my college professer. Their are so many closet pot smokers out there that it would just blow your mind.

LOL! Yeah, I've been surprised by a few acquaintances coming out of the closet over the years. No skin off my nose if they want to smoke their weed. Guess I'm just lucky I never developed a taste for it back in high school days. All it did was give me the "paranoids" and then I'd go pass out. Yeah, real fun!

Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's definitely changes ones perspective on this subject. I do not personally know anyone now who smokes weed, but I'm sure some people I know do it. I like CC have smoked with people you would never believe, Including my mother. I don't remember the last time I even saw weed much less smoked it. I think it was in the late 80's sometimes.

Well I could probably write a book. I grew up in the 60's and was married to a musician in the 70's!!!!!!!!!!! Like many others here I would never run for president but like Jen, it made be paranoid, hungry and then sleepy. Does that sound like fun to you?????

I am amazed at the number of people that work in our plant and in the office that continue to indulge. Seems kinda sad to me when someone sneaks outside during a party rather than enjoying a good glass of wine with friends - but everyone has their own preferences. I'm not here to judge anyone.

I've known many, and even smoked a little pot myself in college. I know a few who still do it. I put 21+.

As I grow older it's not the pot that my aquaintances use, it's prescription drugs. Lortab, Vicotin, Oxycontin and others like that. Many many professional people are into these drugs. Alot of these people are now in Narcotics Anonymous and are straightening out their lives. Only one person that was very dear to me committed suicide while suffering from severe depression and prescription drug addiction.

Can I third it???

Except to be honest, if it was legal, I probably still would occasionally.
