Had an unusual phone call yesterday.

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Thu May 12, 2005 12:14 pm

When I came home, I checked the missed calls on the Caller ID of my mom's cellphone. Found an unrecognizable number on there. I don't know if it's one of the stores or restauraunts calling me for a job, or a friend of mine calling me with a new # or just a wrong #. So I dialed the number up on the phone and after a few rings, I ran into a answering maching greeting saying, "Holla atcha boi! Do whatcha gotta do! See ya!". So I just left a message saying, "If you're trying to reach me, call me up again. If you just got the wrong number, disregard this message."

It is "Hollar at your boy!".

This dude was tryin' to be 'hip-hop'.

I've heard worst greetings such as, "It's me, leave a message."

Mothers have been known to come up with some good messages. A friend of mine used to get messages from her mother that began: "Hello, my name is Mum".

This is my current message.
You know what to do so just do it. Have a great day.

When I first got the answer machine my message said: We can't come to the phone right now so please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We will return all calls or pick up for family and friends the rest of you can just get lost. One day the telephone man was calling to verify an apt. he said I hope I'm a friend, will you please pick up.

Ours goes like this:

"You've reached the offices of 3HB Security. We're not able to come to the phone right now but if you leave your name, number and a brief message we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks and have a great day!"

My cell phone greeting is:

"Hey, this is Jeremy. I can't get to my phone right now, but leave me a message and I'll call you as soon as I can. Have a great day!"

I need to get my cell fixed soon. So, that greeting won't last.

Mine used to be... "Hello? (silence) Hello? (silence) Oh wait, this is my voicemail! Leave me a message. Bye!"
