I remember a long time ago in a town far away (well not that far) I used to work at a Winn-Dixie. I was in the back near the produce department when over the PA system (you know, the musac system) and I could hear a faint but understandable voice over the PA system, like a phone call or something. And as I listened closer, I recognized the voice.
You see my sister moved in her new house down the street and somehow her phone line got crossed with the PA system in the store. Once my sister knew about this she started to have fun. She called my aunt asking about some embarrasing medical problem (Hemmoroids I think). After a while of this, my boss called the phone company and had it fixed.

Phone Calls thru the PA system--TRUE STORY!!!!

When i used to live in Deltona FL. I learned that if you left the phone off the hook untill that annoying beep went off and it was silent you could actually hear phone conversations. You could actually hear them dial and every thing. You could only get one conversation at a time..I know this might seem wrong and let me tell you me and my wife did feel it was wrong to listen but was unbelievable what people are saying over the phone. Now it was faint and you had to have the house quiet. We never could tell if it was people in are neighbourhood. It was like being a fly on the wall. Has anyone else every been able to do this?
