Yesterday, the A/C in my car wouldn't work on "1" or "2" -- no air blowing. However, when clicked up to "3" and above, it was fine - cold, air blowing out of the vents like it should.

Is there a chance that half the settings are on one fuse and half on are another and that's all I need? I can't figure out why else it would work on higher settings and not on the lower ones.

no- your fan switch (it think that's what it is called) is going out. happened to mine. eventually you will get nothing. if it's the same problem. sorry

Better the fan switch than the compressor or evaporator

I have an auto A/C problem also....and the doofus' at the mitsubishi place think i'm nuts. Cold air blows out nice and chilly while i'm moving but when i have to come to a complete stop the air temp rises drastically...to like 85° or so....not fun when it's hot outside. Anyone have any guess as to what it may be?

It sounds like your cooling fan isn't working when you come to a stop. Maybe something is tripping it up when you're at a stop. Also, you could have more than one cooling fan and maybe one just simply isn't working.

Of course I'm not a mechanic.

It sounds like your cooling fan isn't working when you come to a stop. Maybe something is tripping it up when you're at a stop. Also, you could have more than one cooling fan and maybe one just simply isn't working.

Are you sure you're not a mechanic? Did you sleep at a Holiday Inn last night?

and what were you DOING at at Holiday Inn last night!!! lol



that could be low on freon if it still blows, hubby said to put in nuetral and it should help some, if not enough then rev it just a bit.
if it's not blowing then the damper could be loose and see if it's blowing out the defrost vent.



also - DUCK - could be the resistor going bad as well - one or the other.

Hubby is an a/c manager - not for cars, but he always figures ours out.
