What type--flip or regular. Web browser, or not. With or w/o camera

I don't own one personally either. We already have 2 in the family (husband and a daughter) and I rarely use them. Or I should say I use them under protest. Just a MAJOR pet peeve of mine. In my community I see cars straying over the yellow line, daily. Mom's yacking away on cells, not paying any attention to the road. Accidents waiting to happen. On long car trips, we have one of our 2 along, for emergencies. I should add that in our family, they are almost always turned off. And used when not operating a car.

I know, I know - just call us old fashioned, but I personally despise cell phones.

My folks have one...but I have enough going in my life daily...don't need just another distraction IMO.

I know what you mean, Mary...and especially those who haven't yet learned to pull off at a nearest locale to converse on one...and those in public with one...needless to say some of the silly jingles that come out of them when they go off.

What's scary is there was a time when nobody had a cell phone, and everyone survived. People act like the world would stop turning if they didn't have one. What's really interesting is I hate them, and I have one.

I didn't get one until my father was terminal. I use it for emergencies only in case the car breaks down or my mama needs something. I've seen people lately with two phones. Are they crazy?

Nowadays it seems like cell phone plans are cheaper than land line plus you have the mobility

I have a LG flip phone (non camera) and my provider is Verizon. I am happy with it.

It's so they can call themselves if they get lonely.

No cell phone here. It would just be another way for people who want something to bother me.

Motorola flip / camera / video ( although I rarely use either camera or video).

I love my cell phone! I use it for work. Instant communications in the field is a Godsend! If I need a vendor to respond, I can call them immediately. Last minute changes or unexpected problems can be communicated and resolved immediately and on site. We used to rely on radios - but the phones are sooo much better.

For personal use: My daughter has one and it brings such peace of mind. When she is out, she always makes certain to call and let me know what the plans are, how long she will be, etc. We use the voice features in the car. It is essentially handsfree. I find it no more distracting than talking to a passenger. One just needs to be thoughtful. Certainly, it CAN be a distraction, but, so can most anything you do in the car. Common sense works.

If my cell phone were ever lost or damaged, I don't know how I would function. My business life is totally dependent upon it.
