In light of the Downing Street Memo and the request by House Representative John Conyers do you think he will be impeached?

If he lied to the American people he should not serve one more day in office. I don't think he will be impeached, lies or none.

its a memo thats been out there since 2002 that has no back up at all. its been on far left websites for months.

The Downing Street "Memo" is actually a document containing meeting minutes transcribed during the British Prime Minister's meeting on July 23, 2002—a full eight months PRIOR to the invasion of Iraq on March 20, 2003. The Times of London printed the text of this document on Sunday, May 1, 2005, but to date US media coverage has been limited. This site is intended to act as a resource for anyone who wants to understand the facts revealed in this document.
The contents of the memo are shocking. The minutes detail how our government did not believe Iraq was a greater threat than other nations; how intelligence was "fixed" to sell the case for war to the American public; and how the Bush Administration’s public assurances of "war as a last resort" were at odds with their privately stated intentions.

When asked, British officials "did not dispute the document's authenticity." and a senior American official has described it as "absolutely accurate." Yet the Bush administration continues to simultaneously sidestep the issue while attempting to cast doubt on the memo’s authenticity.

Nobody wants to go to war. We trust our leaders to shed blood in our name only when absolutely necessary. But the facts revealed by the Downing Street Memo force us to ask ourselves: Was I misled? Did President Bush tell me the truth when he said he would not take us to war unless absolutely necessary?

More than two years after the start of the Iraq War, Americans are just learning that our government was dead set on invasion, even while it claimed to be pursuing diplomacy. Please join us in demanding that we get to the bottom of this issue.

Kerry Touts Bush Impeachment Memo

Failed presidential candidate John Kerry said Thursday that he intends to confront Congress with a document touted by critics of President Bush as evidence that he committed impeachable crimes by falsifying evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

"When I go back [to Washington] on Monday, I am going to raise the issue," Kerry said, referring to the Downing Street Memo in an interview with Massachusetts' Standard Times newspaper.

"I think it's a stunning, unbelievably simple and understandable statement of the truth and a profoundly important document that raises stunning issues here at home," the top Democrat added.
The Downing Street Memo, first reported on May 1 by the London Times, was drafted by a Matthew Rycroft, a foreign policy aide to Prime Minister Tony Blair. It is said to be minutes of a July 2002 meeting where Blair allegedly admitted that the Bush administration "fixed" Iraq intelligence to manufacture a rationale for war.

Citing the Downing Street Memo, former presidential candidate Ralph Nader called for an impeachment investigation on Tuesday in an op-ed piece published by the Boston Globe.

"It is time for Congress to investigate the illegal Iraq war as we move toward the third year of the endless quagmire that many security experts believe jeopardizes US safety by recruiting and training more terrorists," wrote Nader with co-author Kevin Zeese. "A Resolution of Impeachment would be a first step."

The British memo, however, contains no quotes from either Bush or Blair, and is notably slim on evidence implicating Bush in a WMD cover-up.

Though largely ignored in the U.S. outside of rabid anti-Bush Web sites like MichaelMoore.com, the Downing Street Memo won Sen. Kerry's endorsement in the Standard Times interview:

"It's amazing to me," the top Democrat said, "the way it escaped major media discussion. It's not being missed on the Internet, I can tell you that."


the reason you havent heard of it is because there is absolutely no verification any of it was actually said. lots of this stuff gets circulated on extremist websites of the right and left. anyone can write a memo.

I have my own feelings about the Iraq war, but until there is more solid informtion regarding this, I think it's alittle premature to set up a poll.

its as good a poll as any, asking for our opinions...just as any poll suggests!

I think I remember hearing about this back during the campaign... right around the election mysteriously.

Sick of all it! No he will not be impeached, nor will there be a huge investigation. Every President, and I am respectful of all who have held the office and pray that I can respect all of those to come, every President and elected official in Washington......i.e. Senator/Representive are crooks. Thats how you get power in Washington, you go bad. Does anyone remember all the lies and false promises that are made in an election year, by either side. Its just crazy.......The President of these United States genuinely felt that Saddam was a threat to the people of this good Nation and had the nads to do something about it. WMD's not found, .........SO WHAT! He was still just as dangerous. You all say that we need to be respectful of Muslims and people from that area of the world, we need to be sensitive to there feelings. Boo Hoo Hoo...... If people care so much about them, then why is it a bad thing that our President along with the great men and women of our Armed Forces went over there and removed this crack pot and saved thousands perhaps tens of thousands of Iraqi's from certain death at the hand of their own leader. You go W ! I may not agree with some of his decisions on domestic issues, but his foreign policy is what this nation is all about. We are some bad --- dudes . If this memo were to hold any water, the American liberal press would be all over it like stink on %#^. The left would be salivating for a document like this. So why the silence by the American Bush hating media? Maybe it is because of the past two events that have thrown egg on the face of the media, the CBS and Newsweek fiasco. Sure, lets draft articles of Impeachment today. Just another nail in the democratic coffin if they do.....MGC

It's what the poll is asking about - impeachment of the President. All it is asking for is trouble as I can see it is starting to create.

I have to agree with you. The President was convinced that military action was going to be required. based on that they discussed the military options. Isn't that big news?
