About those "Breaking News" threads

This is starting to border on insanity. Half of the stuff we can read in the paper, watch on the news or hear on the radio. The other half is information while maybe interesting to some, does not need to be posted and therefore clog the server.
I think that half the problem is that some are in a posting pissing match. There are alot of other posts that others may find more interesting that gets lost on page two in no time.
Please think about what you are posting before you do.
Thanks!

Also, instead of posting "Breaking News", make the topic more meaningful by giving it a title that describes what the thread is all about.

Or, try to find the original topic for that thread - ie, Mark Hacking's case, MJ, TV shows (we have a few going already for certain shows) and continue the discussion that way.
Just a thought. Not sure if that's a good idea or not, but I at least try to perform a search on a topic to see if someone else started a thread already about it, first and foremost.

Great idea! We usually put out a "reminder" every once in a while, especially in the Weather Forums.
Thanks Miss Mary!

Maybe we could even start threads to categorize the news... i.e. news from Iraq, news from overseas, etc.
