and no this is not about Theresa lol

An incident occured today at work.. between me and someone high on the chain.. {I refuse to even give his title right now}..

It's a person at work that I really respect, and am learning valuable lessons on how to run a business from.. {I wouldn't mind being a manager some day so I'm kinda keeping close eyes on what management does every day so I can get an idea lol}

Anyway.. the incident has 2 parts..

Part 1: About 7:55 am.. I speak to a CSM about a specific task I was given by this high ranking official.. I have no clue what the Csm says.. I then go to the task giver lol.. and ask him calmly "Can I talk to you for a sec." and he says "I'm about to start the morning meeting.. Please wait till the meeting is over..

I then simply spewed out.. "It'll take 2 seconds".. and that set this person off. He told me "John.. please.. {and gave me a hand as saying move away or whatever}.. Needless to say this made me very upset.. :(

Part 2: Around 10am ET.. I try to go bury the hatchet.. Bad Idea.. lol.. I think this person woke up on the beds' wrong side. I calmly and politely asked him "Why did you give me an attitude when I tried to ask you a question" He simply replied.. "BECAUSE YOU WERE PERSISTENT.. and because you wouldn't listen even though I told you wait till post-meeting". and then he insists to tell me that was a good question {why he gave me attitude lol}

But.. 10-15 mins. later.. He finally realized I was visibly shaken up by the whole incident.. shook my hand, said he was sorry.. But that confrontation is still stuck in my mind.. {Just as bad as the Teresa rumors lol}

Please feel free to chime in.. I have the feeling I was once again wrong somewhere {as always seems the case lol} But please be gentle.. not harsh

People who are in management often fail to address lower-tier staff concerns when they are thinking about a "big picture" (especially just before a meeting), and may seem harsh. What matters is that this CSM DID apologize.

You did nothing wrong, other than a slight lapse of bad timing. :larrow:

I hope I didn't do anything wrong.. I don't believe I did.. I have also learned a lesson.. If this person is a little snappy.. wait for them to calm down lol

I'm probably way out of line here, and I hope I don't sound like a jerk. (Though many here already think I am one! :lol: )

You need to relax a bit and not take this sort of thing so personally. You didn't do anything wrong, and this guy was probably just busy and under some stress about starting his meeting. :)

I can't anything to that.

You just care about your job and want to do it well. Try not to be too hard on yourself though. :wink:

Ahh an icky moment. I hate icky moments. Here's what I've learned about them though... usually when they are more minor icky moments, the other person has forgotten/let go way before you have. So try hard not to dwell on it too much and start tomorrow nice and fresh.

And have more faith in yourself luv! Your a great person! :) *BIG SNUGGLES HUGS*

I can be sensitive, too. At least, the manager saw that you were disturbed a little and apologized! :) That's a good manager!
