Two Weeks to Go Before My Summer is Over :(

I think I may have mentioned on this board that I THOUGHT I completed my first year at University of Nebraska-Omaha (I am a journalism major).

The "I thought" part relates to one of my grades- that rascally ole' history. I have to retake World Civilization II. I recieved a "D+", but I need at least a "C-" or better to make it count. :( So close, though.

Instead of having a three and 1/2 month break, my break was cut down to just under tow months. :( Oh, well, I will do great this time around. History just does not jive with me very well. Fortunately, that is the only class; I can put all my resources towards that one class. The class runs from Jun 28 through Aug 4 (my birthday is going to be final day :( ) Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 9:30pm.

THEN...........after two weeks to breath, I start a challanging 14 hour load for the fall. This will include my first 2000 level class in my field of study! but I will be okay :)

My oldest daughter is going into Journalism too! I wish you luck Brian. I enrolled in college quite late - age 30. Yes, you read that right. Took 2 full years of classes but then had children. One semester off led to another and well, I still don't have a degree but I learned some tricks to studying back then. I've passed this info on to my girls, if you're interested. My rank was very low in HS, I got terrible grades back then. First semester of college, over a 3.0. Next 3 - Dean's List! Some of it I credited to a study skills class they highly recommended I take (being an older, non-traditional student) but also to my age. I just put more time into studying and not hanging out with friends (HS days)!

That's how I do it, Mary! Of course, I really have no friends anyway, so it makes much mor easier! ;) Uhm, friends... or getting ahead in school? I think I will choose the latter! ;) Some people are there just to party (what a waste of education). :( Not I! :)

If it makes you feel any better, I had several "'D' stands for 'Do Over'" classes in my colege career. On the bright side, I also had a few "'D' stands for 'Done'" classes to balance them out. :)
