Anyone up for playing a little "trivia"?

"Everybody's building ships and boats
Some are building monuments, others are jotting down notes
Everybody's in despair, every girl and boy
But when Quinn the ______ gets here
Everybody's gonna jump for joy."

Who is going to bring such pleasure to the event?

Maori
Indian
Eskimo
Aborigine

Like seven inches from the mid-day sun.

For his country and his king

Come up with the chorus...

Headin' up to San Francisco
for the Labor Day weekend show,
I've got my hush-puppies on,
I guess I never was meant for
glitter rock and roll.
And honey I didn't know
that I'd be missin' so.

Come Monday, it'll be alright.
Come Monday, I'll be holding you tight.
I spent four lonely days in a brown LA. haze
And I just want you back by my side.

"Come Monday" - Jimmy Buffett

NEXT:
You've been around for such a long time now
Maybe I could leave you but I don't know how
And why should I be lonely every night
When I can be with you, oh yes, you make it right.
And I don't listen to the guys who say that you're bad for me
And I should turn you away..."

THAT was esoteric!

"They Don't Know" - Tracey Ullman

How about one of my favorites:

(Opening Lines)

The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves,
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays
Roy Orbison singing for the lonely --
Hey, that's me and I want you only...

(Ending Lines)
...so, Mary, climb in.
It's a town full of losers;
We're pulling out of here to win.

This one I know: Bruce Springsteen, Thunder Road!!

Duckie got me with hers :D

One of MY all time favorites, opening lines:

Out of touch, out of reach, yeah
You could try to get closer to me
I'm in luck, I'm in deep, yeah
Hypnotized, I'm shakin' to my knees

More of the lyrics:

I gotta know tonight
If you're alone tonight
Can't stop this feeling
Can't stop this fire
