more proof she wants to take all the attention away from the democrats in 2004. she wants to make certain their funding sources are dried up.

NEW YORK - If you don't want to bother with the book, there's a Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites) TV movie in the works.

A&E announced Thursday that it will make a two-hour movie on the New York senator and former first lady that is expected to air in early 2004.

No one has been cast yet, but producers have already talked with Sharon Stone (news) about the title role, according to a source close to the production who spoke on condition of anonymity.

A&E's announcement comes just days before Clinton's book, "Living History," is scheduled to hit bookstores. The senator will be seen in TV interviews with Barbara Walters, Katie Couric and Larry King in next few days.

The A&E movie will be based on a different book, though: Gail Sheehy's best seller, "Hillary's Choice."

The movie begins with the start of husband Bill Clinton (news - web sites)'s presidency and "will focus on Hillary's quest to fulfill her own high hopes and ambitions as she repeatedly faces humiliating personal setbacks," the network said. It ends with her election to the U.S. Senate.

"It's a fascinating story and one that has absolutely captured the imagination of the public," said Robert DeBitetto, senior vice president of programming for A&E.

A&E is known for its "Biography" series, but DeBitetto stressed that "Hillary's Choice" will not be a documentary. The cable network has been struggling in the ratings the last few years and is eager for attention.

He said no casting decisions have been made on, for instance, the actress playing Monica Lewinsky.

"We're open to suggestions," he said."

I am sure there will be something else on TV whenever this airs that will be more interesting to watch. Maybe an exciting snail race, or a dramatic staring contest. :cheesy:

Since we have a year before the movie starts, perhaps they could fatten up Marie Osmond to play the part of "Lonica Mooo-insky!"

I understand Heidi Fleiss declined the role of the hapless Monica...there are some things even ex-hookers WON'T DO.

Note to all; A&E is partially run by two of Hillary's closest friends, Jane Alexander and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, so don't expect "bare and falanced" in the show to be aired.

Personally, I'd be looking for something on Sci-Fi...more believable.

cool soldier

And who might play the roles of Clill Binton and Trinda Lipp?

You're quick, Bill, you are so quick!

Probably the two old standbys, Barry Bostwick as the ever-lecherous Bill Clinton (Bostwick is still trying to live down his role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, although he looked GOOD in a corset and hose)...and, as the infamous Linda Tripp, only Jane Alexander herself will do (having had NO exposure for years, she'd take it at the drop of a hat). :o

But, who will they get to play the evil Federal independent prosecutor? Ah, yes...Ben Stein!

lets make the movie worth watching, hehe

britney spears as monica, pamela anderson as linda tripp, brad pitt as ken starr, and for comic relief, danny devito as bill clinton.

Such projected casting is WAY out of character, but then...why not? They've lied about everything else...

Chelsea??? You GOT me there; I doubt that even Hollywood could find a butt-ugly child actress who could fit the bill for that role. :o

Robin Williams would make a good Linda Tripp...remember him in Mrs. Doubtfire?
