Good evening!

I just arrived here for the first time tonight, and let me say that I'm impressed with what I see. I used to be a poster on another weather forum (many of you can probably guess which one), but I quit posting about 2-3 years ago. However, I remained as a lurker, and really enjoyed reading and learning all I could about weather, especially tropical systems. Anyway, I found that over the course of the past couple weeks, most of the mets and posters were leaving in droves b/c of the poor state of affairs the board had fallen into. I'm very happy to see that most of them have come here, as well as some other people who I recognize from the past.

I have a very busy schedule, so most of my time here will just be spent reading, but on occasion I might speak up and offer some profound wisdom

I'm looking forward to getting back to the weather,

yep. I posted at TWC for awhile, but like I said above, I stopped posting about 2 years ago, mostly b/c of the same stuff I've seen there this week, but also, b/c time wouldn't allow it.

you made a good choice in leaving TWC. I went by there today and was disgusted with what I saw -- apparently the Admins either don't care or are non existant but they've allowed anonymous people to troll. A lot. It's terrible! Go figure that TWC suffered once from overmoderation, and now it's the total opposite that's turning people off.

Bob, it's nice to have someone from Akron and another good person from Ohio among us.

I believe you will find this place to be spirited, but fair. You will find moderation in the moderation....a HUGE credit to those who make that happen.

And you will find it a place that will draw you for reasons other than weather.

HD - I went there a few weeks ago and was just appalled at how they've allowed disturbing topics to continue. They went from one extreme to another.

Maybe one of us needs to post a link for Storm2K again? We probably wouldn't even be banned now if we did that. And we could attract current TWC members who might be fed up with the situation over there.
