A plague of Biblical proportions

We are witnessing a plague of biblical proportions here in Az, the barkbeetle is laying waste to some 1 million acres of Ponderosa Pines and now Juniper, Pinyon stands, by the time this is over (if it ever ends) there will not be a single tree left, truly sad, ALL of this could have been prevented had the radical environmentalists been stopped

Not only are we facing the bark beetle, a plague of locust have moved into Show Low and are making their way to Pinetop, who says there isn't prophecy???

We've been lucky here in Pinetop, only isolated pockets of beetles have been discovered and thos areas have been hit with an insecticide, let's HOPE this works, it's a VERY expensive proposition spraying the trees, $250 PER TREE BUT.........I'm willing to pay more taxes in order to save what remaining trees there are! Another reason for the infestation, the EPA banned 99.9% of the pesticides that worked very well and were a LOT less expensive!

So far, officials estimate about 800,000 acres of private, state, tribal and federal land have been infested, killing more than 6 million trees. Those numbers have swollen from fewer than 50,000 infested acres in 2001, and are expected to grow significantly as the next generations of beetles swarm this month.
Wow, that's mind-boggling. What a shame.

Yes indeed, it's a cryin' shame, it's Mother Natures way of taking care of the forest since man has screwed things up beyond repair. Along with the loss of timber goes the rest logging industry and untold 1000's of jobs, the timber that is beetle infested is useless for building purposes, it's weak.

Too bad the beetles don't feed on the radical "environmentalists".
