Employee arrested for putting razor blade in strawberries

Jefferson Parish authorities have arrested a 20-year-old Sav-A-Center employee after he admitted to placing razor blades into packages of strawberries.
Wayne Rovaris is charged with one count of criminal damage to property.
Officials questioned him after he allegedly told co-workers he cut his finger by accident with a razor blade similar to the one found inside the strawberry package.
Investigators say Rovaris told them he placed a razor in two packages at the store.
"He didn't give a specific reason why he did it that I know at this time,” said Colonel John Fortunato.
After the razor was found, Sav-A-Center recalled all the Driscoll strawberries sold at the store on June 6th, 7th, and 8th.
