My son, Jimmy and many of his friends in the Htownracing.com organization lost a friend in a motorcycle accident 2 nights ago. His name was Mike Pistorius. He was a wonderful young man, 18 yrs. old that made you at ease the minute you met him and always could make you laugh no matter what. Please say a prayer for him, his family and friends as they go through this time of grief.

If you are interested go to http://htownracing.com/viewforum.php?f= ... cd74663e63 and check out the threads "mike's fare-well" and "thanks to all". The "thanks to all" thread has pictures of the memorial his htownracing friends held last night at Hooter's, Mike's favorite place to go. About 50 people attended and then went to the site of the accident and held a short prayer service and memorial.

This is Jimmy...(the son)

I requested that my father post this up over here because I constantly hear what a great bunch you guys are. For the details as maybe some of you know me and my whole group of friends race cars, motorcycles and atvs(4wheelers). and yes Im not gonna lie some of these take place on the street.

Now the actual incident that happened involved 2 bikes from our site htownracing.com. One being Mike a everyday visitor and personal friend of mine. He has only had the bike for a month but rode dirtbikes before he got this one. He was a great and dear friend to everyone that met him and he was the guy that always had a smile on his face no matter what the situation. His death occured at 1:10am from takin a corner at a decent rate of speed and there either being something on the road or just going to fast. and yes he was wearin a helmet. it came off as he was drug with the bike into the curb.

Now the news reported this as a Racing accident merely because it was a kid on a semi-fast bike(low 12 sec 1/4 mile times) and he was NEAR a street racing spot and the family and his close friends are very upset that they play it off as just some street racer because he wasnt he had a heart of gold and could make you smile in your worst moments.

I thank you all for your prayers and thoughts and what not. I will keep you guys updated.

Also...his favorite quote is "I got it"...well all his friends agree YOU GOT IT MIKE

R.I.P. Mike Pistorius, you are loved and missed

We miss You bro. but you are in a better place now. save a spot for us

p.s. sorry for the long rambling

regards,
Jimmy

So sorry to hear about your young friend Jimmy. My stepbrother Roddy raced motorcycles for several years (motocross), and was himself seriously injured in an accident (what prompted his retirement from the sport he still loves very much).

I'll definitely keep Mike's family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless You,
Perry

Racing is definitely a rough sport. A neighbor of mine has lingering effects because of a motorcycle accident...he will never be the same.

My prayers and condolences to Mike's family.

Jimmy, your message speaks volumes. Sounds like you spoke of him as a brother. I'm sorry to hear of your great loss. It's times like this that make you see how fragile and precious life is. Our prayers are going straight to God asking Him to help you all through this terrible time.

God Bless you all and may he shower you with
peace to ease your pain.

Who among us has not felt the pain of losing a friend...at or near 18 years of age. It NEVER gets easier, and there is never an answer.

The last time my son went through this...it was an accident also. Everyone in the church melted when John Lennon's "Imagine" was played.

My thoughts and a desert prayer went out from Phoenix to his family and to you and your son...in helping him understand that some events in life don't really have answers.
