With the 1st anniversary of the states largest wildfire just 3 days away, the White Mountain Apache Tribe is just now starting to feel the true effects of this "Monter Fire." While they still have the revenue from the casino, Sunrise Park Resort and the best fishing in the west, the tribe is in dire straights:

What sad news Dennis. Has anyone even tried to help them? I feel anger over this and I do not even live there.

Insurance companies, what a joke they are. They are supposed to be there when you need them and they sit on the money. You know like if things are not bad enough!! Anyway.... that is why I no longer work for them.

I know it is going to take some time to heal. It seems like only yesterday that you were telling us about all of this over at TWC Dennis. I can't imagine how those people feel.

I can't wait to see what insurance will do to us if we get a cane this year. NOT. What in God's name do they do with all that money that we pay them? That's what I'd like to know.

In Jan 2004, my homeowners insurance will have gone up 66%!!!!!!!!! If I don't stay with State Farm, I will not be able to get coverage anywhere else. Most companies will not insure me now anyway b/c I live in a very "high risk" area. I raised my deductible and that didn't even help too much. I am just glad that I do have insurance with a company that "supposedly" will not go under in case we do get hit this year.

Dennis, such a sad story all the way around!! I pride myself on being able to find a positive in any situation, but can't seem to find one in this. :(

Our homeowners insurance increased 35% since 18 June of last year, our business insurance, DON'T EVEN ASK, the company we had pulled out the state and the ONLY insurance carrier is raking us over the coals BIG TIME. We are covered for 2.5 mil in liability with a 1 mil umbrella, USE to pay 98$ a month (cheap) NOW..........287$ for the SAME coverage!!!!!

All State and Farmers Insur has pulled out the area, NOW in order to get ANY insurance, you have to comply with a new ordiance set forth by the National Firewise Landscape Coop, if not.......you have NO insurance!

Boy, oh boy how time has flown by. I registered on the TWCMBs on Saturday, June 22nd, 2002 (not banned, [again]; posted several messages there yesterday evening)

I knew several members from here before TWC from storm98, storm99 and GoPbi.
