RALEIGH, N.C. -- A North Carolina medical team in Mississippi recently treated its first victim of Hurricane Katrina.

Hurricane survivors brought a dehydrated puppy to a state-of-the-art mobile hospital.

More than 100 doctors, nurses, and paramedics are working out of the mobile hospital in Mississippi.

The medical team has treated several human patients since helping the puppy.

That is so cool. I am shocked that a puppy could have ever survived this. I am sure someone will adopt the little guy in no time flat. Every survival story is great to hear.

There was an ADORABLE light brown and white fluffy little guy at the shelter yesterday. He was a soft, fluffy Gizmo-looking (the "good" gremlin in the movie, same color) lap dog that must have weighed no more than 5 pounds. They said they thought he was full-grown and a mix of pom, chihuahua, and something else. So adorable!! And very therapeutic to those there who could hold him, pet him, and get little kisses from him.
