Of the following three stories, only one is true...

Can you guess which one? (answers tomorrow)

1) Caesar said the following about war:
Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar.

2) The drug clomipramine has been known to cause orgasms in yawning patients.

3) The flush toilet was invented by Thomas Crapper

wunder, you're no fun. You could have made a silly repartee about this one. You lost your chance. Just remember, chances are precious things.

Your next one will cost you 1 buck.

If you win, I'm your best friend. Honest.

(Oh, and why is a Lincolnian using a charging Buffalo in his post? A Sooner - but better - mind (think Music Man...) wants to know.

I work for a insurance company who has a buffalo for its mascot.

Oh, and there were plenty of come backs for the crapper thing, just couldn't decide which one to drop. LOL

I did my homework, and eliminated #2 and #3. So #1 must be correct.

Well, I can, but I would rather let everyone else see it first.

I'm not a good secret keeper (unless it's serious, and then I can), so you guys will probably find out before noon :)

Okay, you guys ready?

The answer is: #2

Number two makes sense as the correct answer. However, it is known to most people that Thomas Crapper is the inventor of the flush toilet; but for some reason is a false piece of information.

Here's three more to keep you going:

4) Apollo 11 astronaut flubbed his 'one small step' remark as he became the first man to set foot on the surface of the moon.

5) Washington, D.C. has no 'J' Street because city designer Pierre L'Enfant bore a grudge against Chief Justice John Jay.

6) The word handicap came from 'cap in hand' and referred to the physically disabled's need to subsist as beggars in times past.

Hey wait a minute!
I found a reference to that pill causing orgasms, but it was on a joke site!

And crapper did not invent the flush toilet. They already existed. He invented the flush valve and float thingy which was a major improvement to the flush toilet. And yes the name crapper did come from him.

#4 is true.

I'll have so more later if you guys like doing this. I got the idea from some NPR segment where they tell three stories but only one is true.
