I have narrowed my choice in Texas for my move: Forth Worth (Tarrant County) Saginaw, and WATAUGA. What do you think?

Can't help ya since, out of your three picks, I've only been to Fort Worth.

I've enjoyed visits to the whole Fort Worth-Arlington-Dallas area as well as trips to Lindale (near Tyler). Been to San Antonio, Austin, and also south of the border. Other than that, mostly just the Hou/Galv area.

Well, it's not like he asked you to move with him.

Gosh...why bash Texas?

"not interested...at all?" I take that as a bash. But if not, okay. Misperception on my part.

Not sure what we ever did to you to deserve such a lack of interest but so be it. I think you're missing out.

Two ex-husbands and their families who left me with some really bad experiences. Far right fundamentalists who assured me that pretty much all Texans were with them.

I didnt stick around long enough to let that verify.

:D

The only place I have been on the list is Fort Worth, and I really can't be called a fan of the place. It all depends on you. If you like a huge metro area the Fort Worth certainly is that. I have a friend North in Richardson and he only goes to FW if he has to.

I can't comment on the others as I have never been. (Go to Austin)

Well, they musta had a hefty bowl of Wheaties that morning if they were brave enough to say all of Texans are with them. There's an awful lot of us in this big ole state and I think it's safe to say that we don't all agree. :)

Remember if we ever secede, Texas would economically and militarily be one of the most powerful countries in the world...;)

So we are not all that bad...

I've lived in Irving all my life, I also traveled to Waxahache, Sherman, Honeygrove , Dallas, and Ft. Worth.

My best bet would be Fort Worth.

I would say Irving, but that's not in any of the choices.

If I may ask, why are you moving to Texas? Didn't you just move to Florida from California?

Saginaw and Watauga are burbs of FW, so I would guess the choice would need to be whether you want suburbia or a more metropolitan feel by being "in the city". What is in FW that you are moving there for?

Well, Florida was only a pit stop to my last stop, which is Texas. I am prepared to buy a house, but not in Tampa, it is just way to expensive for so little house. I have researched the houses in the Forth Worth, Saginaw area and I found a REAL ESTATE agent and a broker in the Fort Worth Area. My plan was never intended to stay in Florida for very long. I was born in Texas and my heart is still in Texas and will always be in Texas. I always liked Fort Worth even though my uncle lives in Brownsville and my grandma used to live in Harlingen.

I visited Dallas once for 4 days and saw the Southfork Ranch where exterior scenes of the TV show Dallas, were filmed. Actually seeing SF was the highlight of that trip and that was back in 1984. Before they turned it into a major touristy stop, museum and all. That's about it for my personal experience with Texas.

But the town that I hear is really nice is Austin. Of course we like to follow local and current music, so that would be the reason I'd want to visit or even live in Austin.

Like Dallas County, Ft. Worth has nice public transportation, plus a commuter train that runs from there to Dallas Monday-Saturday.

Watauga is a nice city. Small, but growing by leaps and bounds. (I went to Junior High there, lived in North Richland Hills.) Saginaw from what I remember was a little on the high end, but still nice. And there are parts of Fort Worth you would want to stay away from, but that is with any city.

I would look at where your job is and then decide. You can find nice and reasonable housing in all of those areas.

Just my 2 cents.
